Not at all. This is primarily a social game mixed with resource management. You're goal is to survive till you hit your destination while ferreting out the cylon traitor amoung your ranks (or trying to doom everyone if you drew a cylon card at the start). There is some space combat but it's not the primary focus, in fact without the exodus expansion it is possible but unlikely to never see a cylon attack after the setup ships are taken care of.

It's a very good game and very thematic to the show but if you are looking for a port of the MMO then I'm sorry to say this isn't you're cup of tea.
