I just heard about a sci-fi setting that was out a few years ago but is no longer available called Rocketship Empires 1936. Basically it is WWII in space. It sounds like it would make a great alternate setting for EotE. Even though it is no longer avaialble for sale (and was only PDF I believe so second hand copies won't be available) it did get me thinking about such a setting.

Does anyone know this setting? Any more details you can add?

I haven't seen RE but if you can find the old TSR Buck Rogers game there's a ton of great material for that 30's SiFi era. It's a nicely done game that just never took off.
