Since I'm probably not going to get to play for a bit, what do you all think about this list? Would two ions going at once be disruptive enough to let the A-wings get in close and do damage, or am I still better off just leaving them in the hangar? Thanks!
2 Gold Squadron Y-wings with Ion turrets = 46 pts
Tycho + PtL + missile = 33 pts
Prototype + missile = 21 pts
All I can say is every squad with A-wings I personally have seen has lost and lost badly.
Swap out that prototype with a rookie x-wing for some offensive firepower. Just my opinion. I've seen y-wings cause some serious damage, but I've also seen them fail horribly...

True. I've never really felt threatened against A-Wings.
Yeah, wasn't sanguine, just a shot in the dark at salvaging what should be an awesome ship. Only played two games with them, one of which dragged on and on with 2 A-wings failing to seal the deal against Darth, the last survivor, for a few turns before putting him out of his misery despite my setting a lot of good shots.
Unless the A-Wing has a named pilot, I don't really bother with it. I saw 5 A-Wings Vs. 5 Interceptors and the Interceptors took the win with 2 ships left..
I recently played 3 Awings vs 4 Ints, bad day for Imperials. They certainly lack some punch and survivability requiring more care and skill on the part of the user.

These statements are more or less true, but Tycho is a great pilot (and the one mentioned in the original list). He can be very, very annoying – like that fly you just can't swat.
