So... who's gonna be on the cover of AoR and F&D?

By I. J. Thompson, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Wasn't the Edge beta a YT -1300. I don't think this is telling of what'll be on the core book cover at all.

Well if the just announced Beta is anything to go by, we'll have an X-Wing and a bunch of explody behind it!

Well, the EotE beta was a YT-1300 being chased by a couple of Cloakshape fighters, while the actual book had Han and Chewie on the cover.

I'm thinking Leia and Wedge (both from the movies) as the cover figures for final version of AoR. Both of them are very heavily tied to the Rebellion, and Wedge does get a fair amount of screen time, to say nothing of being a fan favorite simply for the fact the man survived two separate Death Star battles.

Since a major point of the original Star Wars films is Luke's journey to becoming a Jedi Knight, i figure him to be a shoo-in for Force & Destiny. Only question is if they go with two good guys on the cover of the core rulebook, in which case I figure it'll be Old Ben alongside him. But if they opt to go with a good guy vs. bad guy, then Vader's almost a certainty.

I would expect the AoR cover to have three, not two - Leia, Akbar, and Either Mon Mothma or Crix Madine. And, of course, an X-Wing.

F&D probably has 4 on the cover: Luke and Vader, Palpatine and Kenobi.

I agree, I would almost certainly suspect Luke and Leia. I would guess Force and Destiny will probably have at least Yoda.

Of course, I am talking about Core Book... not beta. If we are comparing to the way EotE went... I would bet a Xwing and perhaps TIE on cover to go with the beta EotE's YT-1300. In fact, I would not be surprised if they are flying in the Death Star trench.

I just realized after searching FFGs new site in detail, the cover of Beta book is on there already WHOOPS

No... that is what I meant. I was saying the Beta had 1300 so Beta AOR will have an xwing. I totally did not realize there were shots of actual book yet.

I'd say Leia and Akbar, myself.

Obviosuly Leia and Han on AoR, and Luke and Han on F&D. And Fett on every GM screen, just to make sure people want them as much as possible.

But seriously, AoR has gotta have Leia. If a 2nd character is needed, Wedge makes half sense, except he'd probably be wearing his orange suit, which I think would be tough to balance with the red cover. Luke in his Bespin outfit would work well, but he's gotta be reserved for F&D. So here's my bet for 2nd right now, General Rieeken, that guy from Hoth that was leading.

For F&D, Luke's gotta be there. WIth a good enough pose, I think he could fill that space well, since the light saber helps. Or Old Ben's ghost behind him. Yoda would be too small in my opinion, but he could be done I guess.

I'm betting on Leia and C3PO on this one with Luke and R2D2 on F&D. That covers all of the core characters of the original trilogy. Except poor Lando...

But what about the poor old imperials? Would be nice to have an imperial tie fighter or an imperial officer. I realise its called AoR and may have a focus on the rebellion though they would be bad if they don't throw in at least a couple imperial classes. At the very least lots of imperial adversaries and stats for ships etc. as my hope it will expand on space and ground battles and introduce a 'mass battle' mechanic with the dice set.

xwing/tiefighters on AoR. Luke and Vader on F&D.
