Players in East Anglia UK

By chimera56, in X-Wing

Hi Chaps,

I'm looking for other players in the East Anglia area, I'm currently in Lowestoft but can travel if needed.

I'm in bury st edmunds and always interested but get very little chance to play. Suggest we try and find a Saturday or sunday afternoon to evening session we are both free in order to make the most of our time. My car is off the road for a few weeks but think im free most of september. Have a couple of friends here who play may also be interested.

That sounds like a plan! I'll PM you with my contact details.

We have a 5-6 players here in St. Neots (just outside Cambridge) and we meet up on sundays at our local sort of games store.

Where is this store? I deliver beer to st neots every tues. to pig and falcon and coach house as far as town goes, others also.

Not slacking you of yet chimera56 but closer for me

It's actually a bicycle shop (former FLGS that still orders in gaming stuff for us) called Wheelers. The address is 34 st. mary's street. The store opens 12:30 every sunday until about 5:30-6. We have a lot of Magic players but one table gets kept for other games too.

Sounds cool. Guess it means a lot of waiting around if only one table tho.

Are you guys normally in there all day?

St Neots is about 2.5 hours drive so probably a bit far but I am often in Cambridge so maybe.....

We normally claim that one table. I am also trying to organise a small tournament as well for a seperate day (probably a Saturday evening).

Sounds good. Only really posted to keep this current incase antone else sees it.

St. Neots every Sunday eh? Where would you say is the best parking for that shop?

Just got the game, so in need of practice.

hey there, I've just picked up the game today, but I must say it's really good fun. I have around 60+ points Imperial and Rebel so far, but would love to get in some more gaming.

I'm located in Cambridge, fairly close to Inner Sanctum Games which have tables.. PM me if you want a game.

Is there much X-Wing played at Inner Sanctum? Their website looks very focussed on MtG.

Apparently there are quite a few players in the surrounding area. I hear quite a few people from Sons of War play it, but they meet on a Monday and that is my RPing day. I also hear that some people play it in store on a thursday night (which is their Wargaming night).

They do run quite a bit of Magic, but they are fine with you playing other stuff. Today, I was playing with one guy that had come in for Magic and an Australian bloke that had originally come in to do a bit of Netrunner stuff.

This is the reason I'll be collecting stuff for both factions I think, it's such an easy game to pick up and just get people involved in.

I did ask at inner sanctum and they mentioned sons of war, but said rare people play xwing in shop.

Think if your happy it is a good idea to go in there with enough stuff to field both sides, sure you will always get a bite

I'm up for a game. Live just outside Great Yarmouth.

I'm going to be in Inner Sanctum on Thursday Evening.

Drabble, could you get to Lowestoft?

Unfortunately don't drive, so I'm a bit City bound.

Im just north of Huntingdon so St Neots or Cambridge are both doable for me. I've got a decent number of ships for each side and would love to play. What time on Sunday do people typically get together at Wheelers? Feel free to PM if anyone else wants a game.

Easy enough :)

Inner Sanctum on a Weekday evening is tricky for me - the only nearby parking I can find is er... pricey.

Seriously considering trying St Neots on Sunday though.

St Neots this Sunday could work for me as well.

It would also be a bit pointless as it's closed on Wednesday evenings it's their day off. Thursday is the gaming night. There are quite a few places you can park nearby. just don't park in the cinema.

Wheelers itself isn't great for parking, though the town centre has a handful of car parks and we're in easy walking distance.
