By That Blasted Samophlange, in X-Wing

Upgrade card pack with like 4 of each card type. Break them up into munitions, pilot skills, and modifications. Dirt cheap to make and would sell really well.

As far as alternative pre painted ships, there is almost no miniature painting background required to do simple modifications. I think I am going to paint my ships up in Lannister colors.

good idea. id like more Push The Limit upgrades wout having to buy more A_Wings. have 2 and thats enuff for me.

im sure they have plans for an extended universe wave. its pretty unlimited where they can go with future sets.

maybe a few scenarios with foldout maps (which could be laminated after buying?)

Stuff you would love to see for this game.

I may be in the minority, but I'd love-love-LOVE to see this game system applied to a totally new, generic sci-fi spaceship dogfighting game. My favorite Star Wars fighters are the iconic ships from the original three movies: the y-wing, x-wing, T.I.E. Fighter, T.I.E. Interceptor, A-wing and B-wing. While the alternate universal ships are of mild interest to me, quite frankly I'd rather see the rules system adapted to a brand new, unique setting. That way we wouldn't be restricted to previously printed material, and I wouldn't have to see my iconic favorites, like the x-wing, out performed by extended universe crap (<---said in a "get off my lawn" tone).

I really wouldn't mind a 40k based x-wing game. You'd have all the awesome of warhams, without having to spend gw prices. And you get a lot more factions.

I've never really explored the 40k setting; are there a ton of spacecraft, specifically one man snub fighters, that could be used to make an almost limitless game? I'd suggest that licensing might be a problem, but Fantasy Flight Games already makes some Warhammer games, correct?

My main want right now is Red Six himself - JEK PORKINS!

"Stay on target... Stay on target... I'm hit! AAAAHHHH!" ...Radio silence.

Er... that may have been some other Red, but I'm too lazy to look up quotes.

Anyhoo, I really want a ship card for this dude.

I would like to see Fury Interceptor in the next wave, unfortunately he is from old republic era so it's unlikely to happen.

  1. Ghtroc 720 (for personal reasons)

All the ships and cards mentioned here are wonderful additions. Now, with the launch of the Edge of the Empire Role-playing Game, what I would love to see are a few more of the ships, transports and other combat craft; for example: the Cloakshape Fighter and the perennial favorite, the Z-95 Headhunter, et al, featured in the Core Rulebook. With that, we might be capable of combining the RPG and the miniatures game into one great gaming experience. We already have the YT-1300 and Firespray to get us going. How about the Ghtroc freighter (I.J.'s suggestion) from the "classic" WEG Star Wars RPG.
I'm sure there will be more ship ideas coming when the (rule)books for Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny come out

Here's hopin'. At least we have Gen Con, next weekend, to push -- heavily some of these ideas onto the powers that be.

It will be interesting to see what ships get put into the Age of Rebellion book. It may be a really good indication of what we can possibly expect in the future.

a 1/280th scale Star destroyer would be cool...lol I mean if your going to dream dream BIG...

Theres enough fighter sized air support in the fluff to support a good 7 factions off the top of my head.

Isn't that just Aeronautica with the bases swapped, we could practically do that now. Especially as we have PSDs to make up cards and base insert. The fact that all of my Aeronautica is magnitised and it's 1/300 scale (not far off X-Wing). I don't think it would take much for me to take my flying circus against X-Wings. (Well really just sorting out rules)

Saying that as Forge World still sell models in this scale and has it's own Dogfight game I can't see an official version ever being released via FFG.

Pops-"Stay on target..."

Dutch-"Loosen up!"

<everyone dies so he pulls out>

Pops-"Red Leader, lost Tiree, lost Dutch, they cam at us from behindddd..."<Radio Silence>

Jek was:

Jek-"I've got a problem here.."

Biggs-"Pull out!"

Jek-"I can hold it"

Biggs-"Eject!"

Jek-"No! I'm alright! I'm Alrigghggghtt! Ahhhhhhhh..." <Radio Silence>

I have a ton of 40k epic and the scale is just about right - Star Wars - 1/270 and Epic 1/285 (or 1/300, I don't know).

Original Epic is quite a bit smaller for Aircraft as the scale slides as things get bigger. However forge world epic is exactly 1/300 from what I remember

sadly, forgeworl has stopped there aeronauticus game line, as well as GW stopping the epic line.

i do have a collection of fighters for both games,

having played xwing and aeronauticus, i must say that aeronauticus is more streamlined, but its flat and doesnot hove the variety that xwing has. so there is a pro and con for both games.

my heart has been with star wars since 1980 when i saw episode IV for the first time at the age of 4(how odd, i never put that together before) so my freinds and i have been eating this game up.

so if you have a chance to buy an OOP copy of aeronauticus, do not pay through the nose for it, its not worth it. but if you can get a deal on it and some miniatures its cool to add another dimension to a game of warhammer 40k to have a 2nd table where an air battle can effect to table.

now on to the thread topic:

i love the idea of squadron releases, even if its just cards to use on our exhisting fighter( imagine what price tag would be on a pack of 6 fighters with all there cards?)

i do hope they go into the EU for more ships, star wars is not just the movies, it has never been, its a living breathing universe of its own and deserves to be represented as such. it would be selling the game and univers short if its potential to not include them, as for EU ships out performing your xwing, thats technological advancement, it happens in real world, some comes out with a better tank to kill the tank you made, then you build one to kill that tank and so on, why is it hard to think this shouldnt exhist in star wars.

Give the Rebels their own Swarm Fighter...Z-95 Headhunter and maybe the Outrider. Empire would get TIE Defender and Assault Gunboat and boom...that's a wave...

I also agree with them consolidating the cards into a pack. I'd love to see more Rogue Squadron/Wraith Squadron pilots...for the empire...more Saber Squadron/181st TIE Wing/TIE FIghter (PC Game) characters to add to what we already have...

I'd love to see a Wave 4 of the following:

Z-95 2A 2D 2H 2S with cards for Colonel Cracken, Lennart, Tala squadron, Bandit Squadron with options for mag pulse warheads and chaff/flares modifications

Nova Courier as a Rebel big craft with a missile slot, big gun slot, and turret slot, and passenger and system slots.

TIE Defender as a 3A 3D 3H 3S with cards for Maarek Steele, Turr Phennir, Onyx Squadron, Shadow Squadron. missile slot, system slot, vet ability slot. Comes with system cards for decoy beam and tractor beam.

Skipray Blastboat with 3A 1D 4H 4S with turret slot, missile slot pilot slot.

ok,

if i am wrong please correct me, but the skipray blast boat in west end games RPG was classed as a capitolship based on its firepower even though it was the size of a small freighter like the YT-1300. so should its damage not be higher than 3?

and that being said, there should be a special rule giving fighters (not the YT or Firespray, or when it comes out the shuttle) would get an extra dodge die at range 2 and two extra dice at range 3?

this rule would allow the skipray to have an attack of 5 but allow the faster craft a better oppertunity to get out of the way.
