Mixing LOR into Shadow Rune campaing

By Bagdad, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi,

Would it "unbalance" the game to mix the Labyrinth of Ruin cards and monsters into a Shadow runes campaing already in play?

Thanks.

Obviously based on opinion, but I do not think it imbalances a campaign already underway when you add new monsters/shop cards.
My group adds new elements when they arrive and so far there haven't been any problems with it.
Stuff like Rumor cards and such aren't added until the next campaign however.

My heroes get a little cranky if I want to add new monsters in the middle of a campaign. We always wait till the next campaign.

But as far as playing those cards and monsters with the base set is good. I would say go for it! I have played some epics in the base game with all the other set cards and monsters. Super fun.

While according to RAW, it says you shouldn't, I've thought about offering the players a class / hero change (so long as they stayed within the same archetype.) I haven't done so yet, though. My thought was possibly charging 25g, especially as a class change could allow for some more efficient XP spending. They'd also have to "buy back" their starting equipment for 25g if they sold it (they could then re-sell their new class' starting gear if they wanted).

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to continue a campaign since picking up the expansions. I've only started new ones.

There is a hero who's heroic feat is exchanging a class card for any number of class cards less then or equal to the class card you are trading it. We play it where what they originally had goes back at the end of each quest.
