I don't see anything about that in the rules, so YT-1300 and Lambda shuttle can both get two crew members.

Do you see any restrictions to assign twice the same generic crew members ?

Two Intelligence Agent s for example can make sense, but of course, crew members that require "Action" it doen't make sense, but for some of them it could work.

So what do you think about that ?

Nothing stops you from assigning duplicate non-unique crew members. Nothing says they'll work wel together, though

There's some debate over duplicate cards with an action, like Saboteur, are considered to generate different actions or the same action, but the general consensus is they're the same action, meaning you could only use one even if you had multiple actions available to you.

Other crew which aren't action-based should resolve fine. Double Intelligence Agents will let you look at two dials, two Recon Specialists will give you three tokens when you take the focus action, etc.

As I am the author of the Random Squadrons generator ( http://fabpsb.free.fr ), I had a double interest in the answer, one from a player perspective, the other one regarding the tool, in order to see if I had to patch it to avaoid this situation. So I let it like it is.
