Director Haas + Imp

By Groober, in Android: Netrunner Rules Questions

Director Haas: if DH is trashed while being accessed, add her to the Runner's score area as an agenda worth 2 VP.

Rules: A runner may not trash cards accessed in archives.

Imp: ... remove 1 hosted virus counter to trash a card you access at no cost even if it cannot normally be trashed .

Now to my mind, the card (imp) takes precedence - you have accessed a card, it cannot normally be trashed, so you can use imp.

Is this official?

trashed, by definition, is moving a card from R&D, HQ, or a remote server to Archives.

I lean towards no, since the card can't be moved from Archives to Archives, but I reserve the right to be overruled if someone can find a truly viable reason or a ruling from FFG.

The meaning of "cannot normally be trashed" has been clarified in the FAQ, so using Imp to try and override the "cannot be trashed" is not possible -- rightly fixing the absurdity of people trying trashing something that is already trashed.

“Normally be Trashed”

Trashing cards that “cannot normally be trashed” only refers to trashing cards that do not have a trash cost.

wait, so people can't use Imp to get cheap trashes when they run into an Eve Campaign with 2 Encryption Protocols rezzed, and they only have 6 credits to spend on trashing?

Finally, one jank is dead.

That is an absurd conclusion to draw, because if it were true, it also would have been true before the FAQ clarification -- because the wording on the card would have to be different. However, Imp doesn't say that you can only trash cards with it that cannot normally be trashed, but that you can also trash cards that cannot normally be trashed (i.e. in addition to cards with a trash cost).

tired poster is tired. I forgot the wording on the card, and my eyes don't like black text on grey background. I'm lucky I could focus enough to read the question without a headache.

Yeah, it's hard to read that way -- in such a case, hightlight the text and it'll be easier on the eyes.
