Egyptian Temple - the aftermath

By MegaGeese, in UFS General Discussion

So...how did everyone's Egyptian Temple events go?

We had ours yesterday, with a turnout of 6 people.

Brian: promo Dhalsim - tri symbol
Shelby: promo Karin - tri symbol
April: SR Cody - Air (urgh...)
Jacob: Yi Shan - Earth/Good
Preston: promo Karin - ? (didn't get to play against him)
Ken: Kyo (Cutting Edge) - tri symbol
Myself: SR Lizardman - Water

Had some great and epic matches. Karin and Cody came out of retirement to kick the crap out of people (turn three against Cody...shudder), and Ken nailed me with a 20-ish damage Midnight Pleasure (BEE CHECK!). I managed to tap out Jacob on turn three with Darkness Blade (what did my staging area do to you?) From the sounds of things, people didn't really use the Egyptian Temple ability all that much, though.

Favorite play of the day: against April. Turn two Final Destruction, and I fail the check on the block (thanks to my good friend Darkness Blade, who I checked like it was going out of style yesterday). I eat 12 to the face, and it kills my entire staging area, excepting one Shinobi Tradition and one Shooting Capoeira. Cody officially had more non-characters in the staging area than someone xD

Oh, I didn't even know that it was something that other scouts were doing! Cool.

Like Geese said, ours was lot's of fun, and I for one used the Temple's ability more than once to save my turn from ending. I think my favorite moment was getting someone turn two playing as Yi Shan. Also, seeing April play out three foundations and then a 6 difficulty Cody, check a six, and commiting all three foundations to play it first turn.

Air Cody taking three turns to down an opponent?

They weren't doing it right, were they?

I think she wasn't drawing attacks at the beginning that time. She had four foundations and two extra Codys in play, so I'm pretty sure that's why.

That'd explain that. I mean any non-evil Cody taking more than 2 turns to kill? Prepostrous.

the Egytptian Temple event over here was really interesting

Sagat :: Fire/Earth
Zasalamel :: Death/Earth
Raphael :: Air
Guy : Chaos/Fire -didn't play against but heard many things-
White Promo Bison, Order -the hardest fight I had
Chun-Li (7) 'nough said *shudder*

it was a decent event when I went, didn't win but it was all good

i dont think we've even gotten our egyption temples :o

that sucks man... don't know what to say on how to fix that

1) Did the shop sanction an Egyptian Temple Brawl in time (Prior to Feb 18 if domestic US, Prior to Feb 16 if Outside of the US)

2) If the answer to 1 was yes - contact [email protected]

I won ours with ***Yun-Seong***... dual symbol order/void

1. Yun Seong

2. Zi Mei

3. Twelve

4. Ibuki

5. Ibuki

6. Chun Li

Ive only got one thing to say.....soul survivor was a pain to deal with.....i was playing against a hsein-ko turbo 8th bill deck and got 8th billed one the first and second turn

but as for soul survivor it came down commited thanks to the temple and i couldnt draw any cards and sat at 3 hand size on my 3rd turn it was painful...thankfully i was playing sogetsu and could draw all the cards in the world after that

but i still came in only 5th with it looking something like this

1st: Hugo (Earth)
2nd: Chun-LI (Air) (the most controlling deck ever!!)
3rd: Yun-seoung (AIr)
4th: Zi Mei (evil)
5th: Sogetsu (order/water) (me) sigh......i couldnt draw fast enough to keep up with all the other decks
6th: Yun-Seoung (this time off order)
7th: Hsein-Ko (void) i thought this one would have done better but i guess void doesnt have enough control to live with 17 life

everyone used egyptian temple so much it was ridiculous it was alot of fun specially the one game where i took out 30+ life from Hugo by playing 2 reppas, and neo raging storm and 2 High plasma beams lol

Grats to the Hugo player! I've considered playing a Hugo deck a few times, since having forty vitality just sounds like great fun. Right now though, I'm more focused on not having to compensate for a small handsize.

Silent Step Yunseong rocked face at ours, STOOPID FUN. At one point I screwed up and had to play out my entire hand to start Stepping {I went SS, Lord of the Makai, <random 1 diff>, YS Form, stare at an asset, a 1 diff, and a 2diff> and ended up drawing and then immediately playing 3 more foundations including another Silent Step.

It occured to me that I should've splashed Roam the World and Ways of Punishment as I was driving to the tournament, but I was already very nearly late.

have you seen how many cards that hugo can draw its insane....i think in our second game when i was actually able to beat him neither one of us had less than our hand size going into our oppoents turn

but now that i think about it i think it was a earth/all deck.....and sadly i didnt have enough time to beat through 40 life the third game so we ended in a draw

we haven't had ours yet. i expect it to be fun.
