What do you keep your dice in?

By SmokeGunner, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Just thought what would be really cool - a hollowed out light sabre handle/pommel (i.e. just the metal bit, no beam extended) although it might be a bit too big. Maybe they do reduced size ones.

I just had to check. It turns out that I have a couple miniature lightsabers — the handles originally held a small package of M&Ms (broken into a powder, naturally). Unfortunately, the hollow in the handle doesn't look big enough to hold more than about half the dice, so it wouldn't work.

Nonetheless, I felt the need to include a picture.

I lined it with felt and weighted the front so the lid can be used as a holder and the base as the dice tray.

Mine, two sets, are in a ziplock in my go-bag. Along with my core book, and my laptop.

I actually found a small pastic hollowed-out Millenium Falcon that I'm going to use until that bag is done :P .

Pic please.

How does one make a dice bag? Do I need "mad sewing skills" or just a pattern, a basic book from the library, and the patience to do it?

Thanks,

J

Iron-on patches to a lined velvet dice bag. Comfortably holds three sets and some percentile dice.

My EotE Dice have a happy home in the dice bag with Imperial symbol that I won at X-Wing Regionals.

I've always kept dice in a Crown Royal bag.

Yup, I use diff colors for diff games. Star Wars is in a brown Crown Royal Maple bag. Have the destimy tokens in a small ziploc inside the bag too.

It's not hard- it's the easiest practical project I can think of.

If you have access to a sewing machine, it's a 10 minute project. It takes very little fabric - 1/8yd will make several. It's all straight stitch, tho' use of an overlock will make it more durable.

I ordered 2 Star Wars metal pencil cases from (auction site). I got 1 for dice and 1 for the tokens that came with the beginner game.

I have all of my D&D dice inside a jewelry box shaped like a pirate's treasure chest that has been underwater for years (complete with skulls and what not on it). I saw it in Oregon and picked up the last one they had for 20 bucks. Edit: http://compare.ebay.com/like/360695604346?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar '>Found it. I ripped out the velvet lining, as it was getting my dice full of tiny fuzz particles.

As others have mentioned, I like to keep my SW dice separate. I first introduced EotE to some folks while camping, so put all the SW dice I had into a ziplock bag to keep them dry and separate. I have not upgraded their container yet. Not sure if I am going to.

I also keep all the destiny points in the same bag as well.

In your toilet bowl or fish tank at your house?

Yeah I know what you actually meant, just being a smart arse.

I keep them in my leather Chewbacca satchel, it fits my bag of dice, the rulebook, and the gm screen along with my tablet.

My wife suggested using the Death Star from one of my sons Lego sets until we make it to JoAnns. Holds two sets comfortably, but I don't think it is all that secure.

Sorry for the size!

I've got a mint container about the same size. Black and clear plastic with a hatch on top. It'd look like a Pokeball if it were Red & White. Same concept as using the Lego Death Star ball, but the hatch latches pretty securely.

I've got a friend that's a major Pokemon fan (to the extent of hosting her own podcast about the topic). I ought to pass the idea of using a Pokeball along to her to store her dice in :)

I keep mine in a dice cup I got from Games Workshop. It's what I keep all of my RP dice in.

+1. A few regular dice bags but the majoirty are in a CR bag.

Managed to get a few more sets of dice (there are 7 of us in our group) and my TARDIS (ironically) was too small.

So I bought a Millennium Falcon LEGO bag.

The fastest dice bag in the galaxy!

In an empty, cleaned out one of these...

Aside from being an evil dessert, it comes in a plastic jar with a screw lid. It is very easy to clean up once the contents are consumed. I am thinking of buying some Star Wars themed paper to cover the jar.

Really any clear plastic jar would work.

My FFGSW dice are in a plastic ziplock bag right now. Not sure what I will use long term.

I use an old Star Fox pencil pouch I've had since i was a kid. Maybe I'll upload a picture later if I have time to take one.

I found a small square plastic container at the grocery store that I think was intended for snacks. It has a snap-on lid and is just the right size for two sets of dice plus 2d10, glass bead tokens for my character's strain and wounds, and the little diecast miniature of the group's converted YT-1300. All in one compact case. I think I'm going to need one more set of dice, though, so I may need a slightly bigger solution.

Been using the Death Star ornament from the LEGO Tie Interceptor kit. Lots of folks have gotten a kick out of it, including Jay Little and Sam Stewart :)

Glad to hear it has gotten great reviews! It is fun, is it not? The players at my table got a big chuckle of that also.

Wife made this for me this evening. Nothing special, except to me. IMG_06791_zpsb57a217e.jpg

Dude, that is just awesome!
