I got mine via frpgames.com. they had a good stock when I ordered my 10 sets
Why are the dice sold out everywhere?
I remember that my FLGS had a shortage in 88 as well - something about a dice manufacturer going under? Most of the games I was running at the time used only d6's... Traveller, Shadowrun, WEG SW....
The dice were back in stock at Esdevium (UK supplier) earlier this week and my local in Edinburgh got a large shipment in of about 15 dice packs.
It was a reference to the excellent comic "Knights of the Dinner Table", not to any real world event ![]()
I will warmly recommend that comic to any roleplayer BTW.

This is just like the Big Dice Draught of '88. You could not find a polyhedron if your life depended on it.
We had to whittle Detwennies from pieces of soap to get a game going. If the weather was moist, it was a nightmare.
Yep... this situation brings back dark memories.
Huh? I gamed back in the 80'ies and I had no difficulties ever finding dice up until the Dresden Files game came out and suddenly I needed Fudge dice to keep the system simple for new players.
Where was this drought? UK, Canada, Mid-west?
android app or amazon.com
Tell me about it. I was lucky enough to find some at Cape Fear Games on my way back from Myrtle Beach. I searched for quite a while and just randomly stopped by as a last ditch effort. I think they ship too, give them a shot.
This is why I preordered 3 sets when I preordered the core rulebook. ![]()

Ah, yes... excellent comic. Just didn't catch the reference. Now if you had mentioned "Bag Wars"... ;-)
I wonder if there are deliberately just not quite enough dice in one pack?
I think it could do with another of each colour, except for the white die.

Honestly, the dice aren't a bad deal as is. FFG isn't likely making a ton of cash off the dice. If you figure there are giving you 14 (specialty) dice and online retailers are making profit at $10, I doubt FFG is raking in piles of cash from the dice.
But, if they had included just 1 more red die, I would have been much happier. There would be no need to ever get more than 3 sets of dice at that point. By leaving that extra red die out, you'd need 6 sets to be able to cover every situation possible. I'm sure they figured people would almost never be in a situation to need 6 dice, but you know some guy was looking at it financially and thinking this would be a great way to get more people to buy more dice.
Trying to get hold of another pack of dice in the UK is almost impossible without paying about twice the RRP (I guess some online retailers know there is a shortage and has put the price up)

If you really think that that's happening contact FFG and their UK distributor with a picture or link to the inflated price. They will very likely do something about it as it has a direct negative effect on their game sales. I understand the whole supply and demand thing but stores under ordering and then jacking up the price when they run short isn't cool.
Compared to say D&D 4e or even SW Saga edition, this game uses alot more dices in the rolls. I found physical dice pretty messy and really liked the official dice app quite well, especially now if it shows the net result!

Twice?
Amazon.com - 12.03 $ (14.95 $ on FFG site)
Bookdepository.co.uk - 11.62 Euro what gives at this moment according to google 15.53 $, but that includes free shipping from UK(?) to Germany, so not so bad...
Edited by NicoDavoutWell I've been seeing them for about £13 plus about £3 postage, which is getting on for twice (although I admit, not quite). £3 postage for a small pack of dice... really!?

Come on, we live in Europe, EU needs our money for a safe and secure society
... that's why we will always pay more taxes
than our friends from the other side of ocean....that's why its often cheaper for me to order a book in US
. Oh, well
.
because

I feel for you guys across the pond. We are spoiled over here. I was ordering from Amazon.com last week and needed to add an item to get over the $25 threshold for free shipping so I added a set of EotE dice. The dice were $12 and I saved $4 in shipping to add them so the dice only cost me $8.
This will be set 5 for me, but I provide the dice for the whole group so they will come in handy.

Get them from Book Depository for just over £10.00 with free delivery.
I did see them at my local in Toronto for CA$19.95 (US$18-19), plus 14% tax, and online I found them for CA$13.95 and told them that as much as I want to support my local I thought a $6 mark up was a bit excessive.
Just bought another set off of amazon for $12.03 shipped...
