Twin Falcon List - Taking the Sith?

By TUZ, in X-Wing

Hi

I played this list at the club day last month - it was monstrous...

Han Solo + Gunner + Swarm Tactics - 53pts

Chewbacca + Draw Their Fire + Weapons Engineer - 46pts

Total - 99pts

What do you guys think? Have you played similar / how would it stand up against a Tie Swarm?

(I've posted a bat rep over at http://hobbybeforeidie.blogspot.co.uk/)

As a rebel player, I think the falcon is under costed, unless you ar taking the basic smuggler. 360 arc + crew + all that armor is a lot for ties to deal with for the points.

nice article and batrep, was a pleasure to read both.

I do think twin falcon is a hard counter to tie/in as they cant escape firing arcs of the falcon. I have no clue what your opponent was doing flying into RB1, but to each his own. Keeping in range 1 with asteroids will be an issue, but the list still functions well without the synergy.

When I play against my wife's double falcon list I just take as many tie/LN as I can and just focus chewies falcon down, at that point depending on the return fire its usually han vs 4-5 ties, and if doesnt manage to kill a tie a round the odds swing quick in my favour.

The list doesnt have much room for improvement, the only other way to run it, is gunner on each, chewie in the falcon.

Sorry for newbie question but can you take 2 Millenium Falcons in a list? It is listed as a unique upgrade. Seems weird to me.

Are tournament rules different? Thanks.

You can only take one with the Millennium Falcon title card, otherwise they are just generic YT-1300s. You can have two, even three in a 100 point list.

My Han and Chewie list looks like this:

Han + Millennium Falcon (otherwise blasphemy) + Shield Upgrade

Chewie + Luke Skywalker

You just get a lot of hits, especially if you're shooting something that is in between the two YT-1300s. It is very effective against TIE swarms. Fly right into the middle of their formations, it means fewer attacks on you if a bunch overlap, but still plenty of targets.

I want to try out a list with three Outer Rim Smugglers+Gunner (96 pts) plus whatever extras. Or Han and 2 Outer Rim Smugglers. Tri-Y FTW.

Soon we'll have the Anti-Pursuit Lasers for the YT's and 3 ORS may not be a bad idea. Give em each an AP Laser and a Gunner and it'd be interesting to see how it works out

Actually, the triple YT-1300 squad is pretty good: 3 Outer Rim Smugglers each with Gunner and two with Mercenary Co-pilots. Fly circles around your foes and a second shot at opponents anyone misses, plus change a few long range shots to crits. Deadly when used right.
