Help with Arbiter

By AmbientRaven, in Dark Heresy

Hi guys,

Just started playing Dark heresy and was after a bit of advice on arbiters and how to build them as they advance.

Is it effective/not completly useless to go a shotgun/dual pistol arbiter build? We will be keeping only to the core books, so none of the extra awesome arbiter goodies from the other books

Thanks for any help/tips :0

It will be very difficult to make effective dual pistol arbitrator build. But good quality com bat shotgun with fire selector, red-dot and exterminator is your best friend.

My Base BS is 39 and agility is 35 so I am close to the pre-req stats for it.

how would you propose Xp is spent/what later path is effective for a combat Arbiter

You receive Dual Shot and Gunslinger talents only at Marshal rank at best. Hip Shooting and Marksman at Proctor rank. Arbites aren't really good with pistols. I always played Arbitrator as investigation-orienteed class.

Your bet bet is taking either a Skitari-Vanaheim shotgun or, if your GM thinks it's okay, that monstrous Arbites Shotgun from Book of Judgement. Whichever you take, remember to add the fire selector - shotguns' greatest strength lies in ammo versatility. Adding either the Exterminator or an attachable grenade launcher (or both, as technically they're not exclusive) will further improve the number of options you have.

If you're really dead set on making a two pistol build, ask the GM to let you buy the necessary Talents earlier as elite advancements.
