Gondor Family Deck, help needed

By Alex6222, in Strategy and deck-building

So Faramir has been spoiled and i've been thinking what decks to create. One of them is using Faramir, Denethor and Boromir (leadership). So this is waht i have created at the moment:

Ally

Errand-Rider x3

Ithilien Tracker x3

Ithilien Archer x3

Envoy of Pelargir x3

Anborn x2

Gandalf (core) x3

Warden of Healing x2

Attachments

Steward of Gondor x2

Ranger Spikes x3

Forest Snare x2

Ithilien Pit x3

Ranger Bow x3

Events

For Gondor! x2

Sneak Attack x2

Wealth of Gondor x3

Mithrandir´s Advice x3

Patrol of the Forest x3

So that's 45 cards in total. With SoG price will not be a problem (and the theme of putting it on Denethor) and enemies are going to be neutralized pretty often by traps. I think this decks still lacks a little of card draw, will power and readying effects. So what would be your suggestions to complete or improve this deck?

I really like the concept so far! I wish Faramir meshed a little better with Boromir as their high threat levels are not conducive for Faramir's ability.

For questing: I would try to add any combination of secret paths, radagast's cunning, and strider's path. They are all cheap cards that play much better than they appear. Citadel Custodian would also be a cheap 1 WP (since u have all Gondor allies)

Card draw: Daerons runes, master of the forge, and that lore Rohan ally you exhaust to draw a card (sorry I can't remember the name it's late here for me). Granted none of those options are very thematic and I can tell you are running on theme heavily

Yeah these brothers have hight threat so it´s hard to pair them together. I think radagast´s cunning might be useful to avoid locations. The Citadel Custodian and Dearon´s Runes are possible cards that i would includebut i think i´ll wait and see what other options does the next 2 packs provide to fix the little issues it has. Anyway thanks for the suggestions and yes i prefer to make theme decks to super-powerfull decks (although contrary to many player´s belief theme decks can be very powerfull).

Remembered 2 other cards that may help. Risk some light, while kind of costly at 3 is a really good card that'll help you aware what you need to quest with, remove something terrible, and select a shadow card all in one (in a 1 player game anyway). Also fresh tracks is a cheap card that pairs very well with Faramir to boost his attack for a turn.

Will power is still so low although so I think I would stick to battle quests until visionary leadership is released with the morgul vale

Let's hope Visionary Leadership gives a bonus to Willpower - and not to defense!

You could replace Leadership Boromir with Tactics Boromir. While the +1 and access to Steward of Gondor is nice, I think it is outweighed by Tactics Boromir's superior fighting ability and access to the following:

- Gondorian Shield

- Great Yew Bow (Faramir will love this!)

- Hands upon the Bow (Faramir will love this even more!)

- Feint (everybody loves this)

- Horn of Gondor (partially making up for losing Steward of Gondor)

- Gondorian Spearman (great combo with Ranger Bow and Patrol of the Forest)

- Spear of the Citadel (see above)

I'd also recommend to add a Burning Brand. With the Gondorian Shield, Denethor could be your chief defender at 5 shield and complete ignorance of Shadow Effects.

The problem, of course, is Willpower. The only ways for a Gondor deck to account for it are playing Outlands or having Faramir as an ally instead of Hero. So having a friend who is playing a Rohan deck would be tremendous!

I'm combining Faramir with Eowyn and Beregond. I find it very thematic, and it should work reasonably well. Well-defined roles that cover the big three (Quest, Defend, Attack). The only problem is resource generation (due to the expense of Lore cards). So Master of Lore is a must, and I consider having A Good Harvest and Steward of Gondor in the deck, too.

If you play ooop yes. But as solo deck i doubt you can get success with this one. U try some combo with gondors.....still not enough cards to make it work......

they are still weak for proper solo deck. Yes you can win a certain quests not more.....

This is an interesting option but i would like to stick with the leadership Boromir.

Yes gondor is still undeveloped, lets hope it gets more cards in the next 2 packs.
