Which character sheet?

By AgentJ, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

What character sheet do you use and why? Seems a lot of people have made and posted some as well as the official one from FFG.

Also do you use any other sheets, perhaps a obligation sheet (tracking which player got how much obligation from doing what etc.

I would have to go find the link. There is one that has dice pools calculated and has the font in it... it shows the dice. Really cool for quick figuring.

However, since we play online, I am probably going to tear this sheet apart in Acrobat and make a 1 page landscape version, which would be much more convenient for how my group plays online.

There's a couple threads in the forum, one featuring a form fillable pdf (I use the low ink version because it's easier on my eyes), the other an excel character builder. I've been going back and forth between the two trying to figure out which I like better. Currently I'm keeping both in parallel.

I've been using the one I did: http://aramis.hostman.us/sw/SW-EOTI-BetaW9.pdf

It includes all the combat used data on one side, includting attributes skills, talents, soak and weapons; other gear goes on the back, and there is a space for tracking which talents from the various specialty talent trees have been taken. Also, for each talent, bubbles to mark from which talent trees a given specialty has gained ranks.

Ain't exactly pretty, but it is very functional.

I've updated mine with a spot for talents now so you can track which talents you've purchased.

There are a few out there. But I like the ones that have all the skills, characteristics, wounds, strain, soak, and defense on the first page. Since those things are referenced and modified most often, it's best to have them on one page instead of forcing the players to flip between two.

I'm kinda partial to the one I found on the Beta forums sometime back and have spent time updating and reformatting to move away from the simple B&W set-up that the original creator used.

Nice thing about it is that it's easy to update the soft copy and then print the new version out as a PDF if so desired. It's not as pretty as some of the others, but that's due more to my lack of proficiency in the realm of graphic design. Also has a column for the dice pool, which can either use the font included in the zip file or simply letters (P = Proficiency dice, a = Ability dice).

My wife wanted a better sheet than my previous, and the stock ones she considers no better. So...

I just did a landscape layout, a bit nicer than my normal extremely utilitarian style.

Now, I'll explain a few things on why it's the way it is...

All the combat data is on the front. Soak, Defense, skills, talents, weapons.

I used dots for all attributes and skills, because, while not overly pretty, everyone knows what to do with them.

I put two checkboxes in the CS column - at my wife's request - to make character generation easier - mark career on the left, specialty on the right.
