Pirates and stolen ships

By KILODEN, in X-Wing

Something just seems off about the pics I'm finding of the Carrack Class Cruiser. 350 m, 1000+ compliment of crew, and yet with the bridge windows it looks like it really shouldn't hold more than about ten people. But as for scale, it's shown in images with Imperial Star Destroyers at about 1/3 the size. Since the Millennium Falcon is about 35 m, this ship would be about 10 times as long, or over 4'. We'd be pushing the limits of what could really be treated as a ship instead of terrain. What do we expect? This is a Light Cruiser, after all.

The Corellian Gunship, which is merely a Frigate, seems to be a bit more playable size at a 120 m or around 17" in scale. You might not be able to navigate it around the board very well, but at least it would fit on it. Doesn't the empire have any comparable sized Gunships? Putting a Gunship on each edge of the map with the fighters in between would be a lot of fun. Especially if proton torpedoes or other weaponry could have an impact on them.

yup, where is baron fel? he should be a kick butt tie pilot for the empire, then also for the new republic after he switched sides

Is that not Soontir Fel, the TIE-In pilot?

No,

the letter designation after TIE, denotes the model. There were several TIE designs based on the original fighter model. I cannot remember all of them and what each one meant (not that big a geek) but they were sutle differences that in the origina RPG from West End Games, didnt cause the stat lines to change at all.

Jasonkw meant (I believe) TIE-Interceptor Pilot. But He is still right. Baron Soontir Fel flew a Tie interceptor for the vast majority of his career, TIE designations have nothing to do with it.

The only Fel we can reasonably expect now is Jagged Fel, his most talented son, who would be flying a chiss clawcraft, which would be sick.

i was not disputing the baron fel question, just pointing out that the TIE-in is not exclusive to any one pilot.

sorry for any missunderstanding

wow, i know its been awhile since my RPG books have seen the light of day(like 12 years) but i thoughjt the carrack class was alot smaller.

they do have the system patrol craft.

i will have to get my books out for stats before i open my mouth again.

They could easily release Print On Demand upgrade packs for the large ships, representing other side of the conflict. Rebel Shuttle and Rebel Firespray are both existing in movie and expanded universe.

That was it.

And I totally agree on Jagged Fel in a Clawcraft. Sick! Fingers crossed on that one!
