What type of shuttle is the "Senator's Shuttle"?

By Stormtrooper721, in X-Wing

I'm looking for the wookieepedia.com info on the type of shuttle that is on the "Senator's Shuttle" token from the core set.

Anyone know?

Nevermind. Found it here:

No weapons as standard but powerful shields.

Corellian Star Shuttle

I thought that if this was identified, someone might build it. But using a ship base instead of the token for scenarios is going to be tough. The token size is in between regular and large ship sizes. The base game scenario will need to be adjusted to compensate for the change in shuttle movement.

This isn't mine, but it's been done and done very well:

At scale that thing would be over 11.66 inches. I think you need to find a different type of shuttle if you want something near scale to that base.

Very nice indeed! And a card to boot!

I wish FFG would make us a couple of models like that, would be nice to have some "objective" type ships that came with their own scenarios, etc. Perhaps all they are is escort missions with random variables you roll for, etc, but it would be a welcome addition to my games, that's for sure.

Whoever made that model comeplete with cards, etc., well done.

Where could I get one of these?

You can get that Senate Starship at Shapeways. I have one and it's sweet.

Also have a De Agostini Neimoidian Shuttle I got from EBay. This one is 1/267 scale and fits nicely on CorSec Engineering's shuttle-token sized flight stand!

Yeah, but you can paint. I've seen your blog. Love the GR-45s btw. I tend to note have the skill, patience or both.

I ordered the rebel base from eBay to get the GR-45\75, but I'll just end up gluing it together and hoping for the best.

Why don't you sell your TL stands, GR-45 (I have one I can trade haha), etc.

Yeah, but you can paint. I've seen your blog.

Good news if you get the De Agostini Neimoidian Shuttle -- that comes prepainted. I'm doing a little modelling on mine and might well dab some new paint on it, but it's quite pretty right out of the box! I've clipped the legs, folded them in and glued them in a retracted position. According to Wookiepedia, there's an armed version, so I'll probably stick a weapony thing on the upper fin.

For the GR-45, even just giving it a spry-coat of flat light grey would be a quick and easy improvement over the shiny plastic.

I have just ordered the shapeways shuttle, smooth with base, I will let you know when it arrives. first impressions are a little pricy at 30 euros with postage to UK but lets see, it does look nice, he does cargo ships and containers too but I will probably knock some up from card for personal use if/when I get the time

Frankly I could have built my own at half that price but time is always an issue for me!

True, but I'd be happy with a painted Senator Shuttle...

There are so many good painters and modelers but so few paint for fee. That is one of the reasons why I like X-Wing, pre-painted and not bad at that. Not that it can't be customized.

Here is mine

Nice! The black base is a good look.

If it was only painted... :)

Well i am a 40k veteran. I am a slow painter but i know i could definitely do this shuttle. Do they deliver to Europe? Anybody knows this?

Sorry to grave dig on this one, but I cannot seem to find my answer. Does this model come with the base token, and the ship card, if not I have seen many repaints with custom base tokens, where are you getting these from? Is there any chance we could have a sticky where people could contribute the new pilots cards and base tokens for the masses to print out?

I already have the one thread book marked with the amazing pilot cards, but none of them have base tokens.

No the shapeways ship is just the ship.. or there is one with the stand as well..

What detail levels did you folks go with from Shapeways?

A few of the shapeways places have double bases for "long" ships. I was hoping FFG would do this just for some more variety in ships (Hawk would have been a great time to use this). I could see it for a few different ships where they might be just long and skinny and not bulky (hawk) or just really wide (kwing).

The shapeways stuff has been cool so far. I didn't like the price on this one though. For the unpainted model, base, and peg it was more than I paid for my falcon- that's a bit much even if it's really cool.

On this one I would go UD.. and i wouldn't get the stand as it doesn't need anything special.. i saw where someone had just mounted it in the cardboard cut out of the ship.. it really doesn't need a card or such..IMO ..

I know it's pricy to get the better material, but the WSF is too grainy and I feel wouldn't look good. The UD and FUD is nice and smooth and looks great painted. I'll probably get one soon myself..
