They seem to be the worst creature in the game with a brown defense die and low health, I don't see the point in ever getting them.
Can we get some errata to like maybe give them a ressurect ability or something thematic?

I agree that zombies are among the least powerfull monsters in the game.
I would not try to power them up: the fact that there are different qualities of monsters in the game makes its diversity.
I would venture that zombies will only appear in a game when imposed by a scenario - in any case, that is what happens at my table.
It could have been interesting that the zombies had a higher number limit - quite like the kobolds, who are wimps, but who are in great numbers ("canon fodder").
the only time I have played them and they become stupid good was in twin idols. They slowed things down just enough and came back just as often.
that quest was ugly... 5 hours and no one got thier objective far. we ended that fustration in a draw...
In my opinion, there should've been more zombies included. They're just too weak... there should've been 5 or 6 minions or 2 or 3 masters. Zombie movies portray them as swarming creatures, yet there's only 5 of them in a 4-player game.
IDK, I was thinking that you could spend a surge to put a fatigue token on them, and when they died, you could remove the fatigue token to roll a red die and bring them back from the dead. Zombies should be far more resillient.

It would be far nicer if more monsters were viable so that we don't have games that look like "Hybrid, Ettin, Barghasts" all the time.
Other then grab ability that's all I like about them. On quests I got to use them I just utilize grab best i can.
Does anyone consider writing their own monsters and just using the Zombie miniature for them? Such as Mummies or Wights?

I haven't personally, though I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
Another option would be to double (or triple!?) the monster limits on zombies and use proxy figs to supplement the game. The nice thing about zombies is that they rarely carry weapons, so it's really easy to find proxies that look like they belong in just about any setting a game might be based in.
Adding more just makes them into a different kind of Kobold, and that would take the specialness of kobolds away. Personally, I think they are an ok monster group. I will never pull them unless the game forces me to, BUT their abilities are well enough to cause trouble for my heroes. Though they agree that they are not a good monster group, they would also agree that it's really not a good idea to get close to the master monster unless they plan on killing it that turn.
They are more of a thematic monster then they are one worth choosing for an open group. As horrible as they are, that is done by design. In many quests they come back pretty rapidly. Besides, they need a horrible group to make the ok groups look better then just alright.
