Striking alone and from outside of battle

By chiller087, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Ok, if this has already been answered somewhere, please direct me to the appropriate thread.

Across the Anoat Sector gives any Smugglers unit that attacks alone, an extra blast damage.

So say a Blockade Runner attacks alone, and you have Chewy back home with his bowcaster. If Chewy strikes first, followed by the Blockade Runner, will the Blockade Runner still get the +1 blast damage from Anoat?

I would think it does, since in order to get it, all the Blockade Runner has to be doing is attacking alone, and Chewy didn't assign with him. Just..."feels" kinda overpowered though, which is why we were scratching our heads over it at our most recent league night. Anybody know for sure?

I also think it works. So far only thing about "attackers" in the rules I can find are about those units you chose when choosing which objective to engage. That would make the Blockade Runner a lone attacker. Chewie with bowcaster wasn't named an attacker so he gets to strike from home. This ability is only possible if Chewie is not partcipating as defender or attacker, so still Blockade Runner is attacking alone.

yes, chewy is not considered to be a part of the engagement. It specifically allows him to strike during an engagement that he is not participating in, which would mean your sleuth scout still counts as being a lone attacker.

If you haven't already, you will soon "feel" like most of the smugglers and spies cards/combos are OP. many of them border on being OP. with time and new force packs, this should start to swing, although the next force pack, once again, has what looks to be a ridiculous set for S&S.
