What do you guys think? They have been decidedly lacklustre in my experience. We rarely get the advantage to set the blast off. Maybe I am playing it wrong...

1. Choose your targets wisely. 2. They can be set to blow on impact, or up to 3 rounds after being activated. 3. Be creative!
Also, if you have a "non-combatant" they can aid to get the boost die to the thrower, firing for effect as it were.
Grenades are very good against minion groups if you let the blast hit all of them individually!
Grenades can circumvent cover, or flush people out of cover.
Grenades really come into their own when you cannot get a clear direct line of fire to your target. For example someone binding around a corner or on the far side of a low wall.
Grenades are great if you roll a lot of advantages and not many successes, because the blast can still hit on 3 advantage.
Lessee... grenades are a have potential of screwing your own players and have to be planned well before tossing... probably not good on death star in new hope, but good on Endor in RotJ... yea... grenades sound about correct to me.
had a player toss one in my last adventure... They had to toss, then use a maneuver to duck around a corner to keep it from hitting them. Luckily they both realized this and because of the way initiative works, one went... fired his gun and moved... then the other tossed and moved.
Edited by BrashFinkGrenades are tough in RPGs, explosives in general actually, because IRL they are very effective especially indoors or in a small walled area. Shrapnel aside the concussive effects alone will at the very least ring your bell for 30+ sec., effectively removing you from combat. Then theres the dust, smoke, and the noise (your ears would be ringing for hours after if you were anywhere near one going off). If a RPG took all of this into account grenades would be either useless as no one in their right mind would use one 90% of the time and when you did they would dominate, taking out, not necessarily killing but severely stun anyone in a normal sized room. Either way I'm not a fan of them, especially in the SW universe. Their just so un-Star Wars.
I'm going to leave them out, except in very special circumstances. That said I am going to up the damage for Thermal Detonators because right now they are okay but not the threat that was implied in RofJ. These buggers should level a block...
