The rule book eludes to this but me and my buddy couldn't figure it out.
During the force phase each turn the active player is allowed to commit units to the force. Can they commit more than one unit, or only use one force card per turn?

They can commit up to 3 units to the per on a turn.
and once you commit your 3 force cards to units, they can't be moved around to different units until one of them dies off, at which point that frees up his force card.
On a related note, the rules state that only ready cards that are committed to the Force count toward the Force struggle. As I understand it, a ready card has no Focus icons on it.
So, is it part of the game strategy to not focus cards committed to the Force so that they're available for the Force struggle? I've played just two games so far and I find it challenging to decide when to use a character or vehicle to attack or defend. Having to decide whether to save them for the Force struggle as well presents an additional layer of challenge.
Or did I miss something?
That is absolutely part of the game's strategy, as is deciding which cards you're willing to play into an edge battle.
The Star Wars LCG is all about deciding how to use what you've got, and there are definitely some tough decisions to make along the way. It can be very challenging and I've really grown to like the game because of that.

Agreed. Also for me, it's one of the few games where dice rolling is not a determining factor in my success (I suck at dice rolls). Because of this I can usually plan one or two turns ahead the entire game and adjust according to what my opponent does.
Thanks, folks!
