Fonts for EOTE Symbols?

By PrettyHaley, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

New to the forums and sorta new to role playing games. As of last week, this is the first game I've played that didn't come out of a Beginner's Box. :P

I'm wondering if the fonts or symbols used in the writing are available anywhere for anything someone might write on their own. Can someone point me in the right directrion for those?

Sorry if this is pointed out already. I'm not just a n00b. I am an eternal n00b.

Sorry but I don't know where to find them but the good news is that there is a beginners box out there for you.

Azalain had created a font with EOTE dice code icons back in about December. He had had a link to it in his signature, but that seems not to be there anymore....

On the risk that I'll be doing something illegal or otherwise against the wishes of the devs, I am not going to give you a direct link to where I found these, but I can tell you how I found this font.

Go to the d20 Radio Forums for the Order 66 podcast and work your search-fu.

Good hunting!

Heh, Aramis wasn't afraid :) That message popped up before I'd finished mine so, apologies for being cryptic.

Thank you so much for this!

TYVVVVVVVVVVVVVVM!!!!!!!

Y'all are welcome.

I did it for the die-roller I cobbled up as an HTML/Javascript

Hi. I don't mean to hijack the thread but it seemed the most relevant place to post:

I've been receiving private messages requesting the EotE symbol font I made for the BETA on an almost daily basis. I've added it back to my signature if anybody else want to use it. Enjoy!

FANTASTIC!

Thank you so much. Just the .png versions of those will be so helpful, but an entire Font? Brilliant. far beyond my meager skills to create.

These look GREAT! I'm assuming you did the black outlines for the colored dice in Photoshop or some similar program?

These are .png versions of some of the font's icons. I simply added those to illustrate the post.

The font is a regular open type, black and transparent font. It can be used in any application once installed on your system. What you can do with it depends on the application you are using.

Word will give you little control. You can add a black border to the symbols with "text effects" but I don't think you can adjust the width of the border . Edit: I stand corrected, border size can also be adjusted in word . Other more sophisticated page layout apps, such as indesign, will give you a lot more control.

Mine is also OTF/TrueType.

I've not found a good free Post Script (PS) Type 3 font editor, and I'm too lazy to hack one myself manually from a Type 1, but a PS Type 3 can do full color.

Also, my font has quite a variety of symbols - including smaller sizes and stacked double symbols, since I wrote it primarily for my die-roller web-page. (It was the only way to get the die-roller to run on my Nintendo DSi/3DS systems.) I don't recall if I put in a readme PDF...

I downloaded and installed the font in Word yesterday, and it looks great. Thanks a lot, Aazlain.

I hadn't done a readme. I have now. Also, updated for some alternate symbols; my Edge page is at http://aramis.hostman.us/sw/

This will help tremendously with your font. :-)

The key are

A advantage

T Threat

S Success

F Fail

V (Victory) Triumph

D Despair

K (printer shorthand for black) Darkside

W (white) Lightside

Uppercase are large, doubles side by side

Lowercase are small, doubles top & bottom.

Doubles go to nearby letters.

I know this thread is kind of old - and apologies for resurrecting it. But does anyone have pngs for the despair, threat, and force die symbols?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the links. Interesting.

Sorry to (half) threadomance, but I decided to do a small modification to Aazlain's original font. Most notably, I added the half-half Force point symbol from Force and Destiny, for those who what to start using that in adventure and other writeups. I also hollowed out the Despair symbol.

All credit still goes to Aazlain.

Wow. Blast from the past.

I think this is the first message I ever posted here. Trying to find those symbols for my GM was what brought me to these forums in the first place. And you've been stuck with me ever since.

There are worse people to be stuck with. :)

i could print that out and put it in my tea but I think it would make it too sweet!
