With so much info available on the character sheet, it would be nice to have some check boxes with each attribute so that the number of advances can be tracked.
Character Sheet
I definitely agree, I'll probably end up making my own sheet when I can be bothered (FFG sheets are always woefully small when considering a long term campaign). I'll definitely be adding a decent set of checkboxes when it comes to that. Or maybe just a spot to note down the number of advances, considering the sheer amount you can take now. I'm hoping FFG change that though.
I totally agree with this, and more space in general for talents would be great. A couple of other things we thought up during character gen...
Why not just have the level 1 in each skill already ticked, since the characters all start with them?
Why do you need to write down the availability of your weapon if you already have it?
For trading it in, I suppose.
Hey here is a custom sheet I made today. Give me some feedback on what you would like changed or added. I will give it fillable fields once the community is happy with it .

I like this, a lot! I only see a few potential issues. The tickboxes for advances are great, but, assuming rules on maximum advances don't change, 4 will rapidly become not enough for some characters. Might be worth changing it to a straight up number entry field. Other than that, I'd put a split between the lines for Mental Traumas and Malignancies, just to show they're separate lists. As well, psychic power slots might be a bit on the low side, could be worth sacrificing a row or two of equipment to add some more.
Really though, nice work!
Could we get the horizontal grid back for Characteristics? Similarly, I'd like the same for the NPC stat notation.
Why? Most of the time it just forces using up unnecessary horizontal space.
Looks great, Rokknrolla!
A few comments:
- I don't understand the Modifier box on characteristics. Is that intended for temporary mods? If so, good idea. If it's intended for the characteristic bonus, shouldn't it be on the left? If it's not intended for the characteristic bonus, maybe it'd be a good idea to have a circle or similar (like the official sheet) to denote the bonus.
- The smaller "Armour" boxes on the character cutout seem very small. Might be difficult to write in.
- Nitpicking: The Ordo Hereticus seal is cool, but would be out of place on characters in a different Ordo. I like the idea, but maybe something more general would fit?
- The fields in the Talents table seem very small. I like that you've made space for a lot of talents, but maybe it's better to make it 2 talents per row, and then make some more space vertically (see below).
- .. also on talents: It'd be nice if there was a thicker border separating the different talents on the same row. I didn't even realize it was three per row until I was about to tell you there wasn't enough room in there.
- The Psychic Powers table seems too small - but also pointless for non-Psykers. Would it make sense to lump these in with the Talents and Traits? They honestly are just a special kind of Talent. This would give a little more room on the page.
- There's a lot of space set aside for Gear and - especially - Conditions. This is nice, but I think the Talents/Traits/Psychic Powers need that space a lot more. Maybe scale down these two to make room for the Talents table?
Really looking forward to an editable version!
Why? Most of the time it just forces using up unnecessary horizontal space.
Because it stops using up unnecessary vertical space instead?
For me, a horizontal grid is just easier to read on the fly. It may just be my background in Warhammer games of the past but it's what I am used too. There is also a slightly iconic feel to the presentation with the gridbar feeling a little like Traveller's UPP records - it's almost like a data readout for the character is being presented .
Similarly, I'd prefer the horizontal grid back for NPC notation - rather than the 3x3 grid we have now.
Edited by EchoEchoThanks for the feedback! I will make some changes that I feel are necessary and re-post so we can fine tune this sheet ,

I like it very much, at a glance.

Very nice. If you could do an 'experience expenditure' section, that'd be grand.
Uh...unless horribly mutated, Acolytes should only have two legs, yah?
(FFG sheets are always woefully small when considering a long term campaign).
It's not that they are small. It's that the sheets waste a lot of space. For example, most characters will not get psychic powers. Meaning they have that block on their sheet they won't use. At the same time, the psychic power section is not big enough for psykers (this one might be though), epecially if they don't remember what their powers do.
Worse though is having the charactistics listed twice. If you only list your charactistics on one page, you've got a large block of space you won't use.
List your charactistics on both and there will be times where you change one, but forget to change the other. Or change each value without changing the other, leaving you with no clue what your real values are.
So, Rocknrolla, did that sheet ever get anywhere? I'd love to see a fillable version, and I figure I should ask if you're intending to change things before I just bite the bullet and edit in the forms myself.
I have used these sheets some in my playtesting, and have to say that I love them.
Sry been real busy guys! I need to add Intimidate to skills and I want to do a vehicle chart for players to keep up with their vehicle. (Its such a integral part of the game!)
