Neutral sets?

By mrFlibble801, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Can any neutral set be placed in a light side or dark side deck or do they have an affiliation?

If they do have an affiliation how can you tell if its light or dark side?

No you can't use any neutral set in any DS or LS deck. the back of the cards are color coded red and blue to denote LS or DS.

I'm pretty sure the snow troopers in sabotage in the snow wouldn't be fighting for the rebel alliance.

I still kind of wish these sets' cards had a "DS" or "LS" marker where the Affiliation symbol would otherwise be. Yes, it's possible to tell the difference by the card back, but I don't see any drawback to having that indicated on the front of the card as well.

Well I derped that one. I agree though, they should have a mark on the front of the card and no snow troopers wouldn't work for LS. I just thought it was odd there were no marks on the front.

Yeah, neutral sets aren't like the old CCG, where if I remember right, could be included in any decks. they certainly could have put identifying marks on the front but they didn't so, it is what it is.

I don't believe there could have been neutral cards in the Decipher CCG, as light side cards had the Alliance emblem on the back, while dark side cards had the Imperial emblem. In Wizards' T CG, however, all cards had a close-up of Luke's (or Anakin's!) hands gripping his lightsaber, much like the "Lightsaber" art sleeves printed by FFG. Card alignment was determined by a blue lightsaber, red lightsaber, or the Mandalore emblem, for LS, DS and neutral cards respectively, appearing on the top-right-hand corner on the front of the card.

for some reason I was thinking the creatures were neutral, but now that I think about it maybe there was just LS and DS versions.of some of them such as the mynocks.

Most, but not all, creatures in SW:CCG had LS and DS versions, they just looked different from other units because they had a silver/grey background that made them look neutral. It helped to distinguish them because they had seperate rules governing them regarding how they attacked, moved, etc. because once you deployed a creature, you didn't really control it, it would attempt to move towards the nearest available target and attack it, even if it was one of your units.
