I have not seen any fuel, maintenance or cost of operation seen for the vehicle's mentioned in the rules, could anyone clarify on this?
Starship, Maintanance / Fuel
there is another thread on fuel usage. Given the nature of the system, I would at most make it an obligation if/when it became a recurring thing. Otherwise handle it during "down time" or talk to the PC's about a periodic fee to be paid, if and only if the group feels that it would add to the story.
Here's that other thread.

As for maintenance and docking costs and all that. As with fuel, I would recommend not to micro-manage it. That said, it is a very good tool to use as a "credit sink" as needed or a plot device to keep the players grounded if needed to serve the story.
This is just my own personal opinion, so you're welcome to agree or disagree.
I don't view this game as a sim. Meaning things like eating, sleeping, fuel, even cargo space don't matter....unless they matter. If there's a story reason why someone is hungry (maybe they're stranded), or sleepy, or low on fuel (in a dire rescue situation), or something, only THEN would I take it into account.
All this talk about cargo space and ship encumbrance? It's for the birds...I don't have the patience to figure it all out lol, and it isn't very cinematic, unless there's a specific story reason for it to matter.
Keep that group hungry! Charge them for all that stuff! Just not ALL the time ![]()
Paying for docking fees every time you land probably makes sense, but refueling and resupplying the ship should not, in my opinion, happen every time as well. Make that happen every couple of hyperspace jumps, or once a month, or whatever works for you. Make it happen when it contributes to the story in an interesting way.
