WEG Inspired Easy to Read/Print Character Sheet

By mrvander, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So another thread got me to experimenting with a "better" character sheet. My goal was to make it legible, go easy on the printer ink and make it as functional as I could. So here's page one of my admittedly WEG-inspired character sheet. Page 2 is to come and that will have all the usual "page 2" stuff that's not critical to refer to most times during gameplay such as credits, obligation, motivation and whatever else I can think of.

Feedback and requests are welcome.

That looks really nice! Definitely a no-fuss option.

I look forward to page two.

There's a good chance that two specializations won't be enough for long term characters. I've seen a fair number of people mention plans that incorporate at least three specs.

For this system, I'd also consider Obligation and Motivation to be front page things, since character is somewhat more important than mechanics. You might consider dropping a line for at least the summary of both and then moving a more detailed box to the second sheet where players can write down the smaller details.

Thanks for the feedback. As a GM, I value story and narrative above mechanics, but as a player, I don't think Obligation and Motivation are front page items. I invest my time heavily into those items and flesh them out at creation. I have a really good idea what they are without having to refer to them. Obligation is a game resource, but falls akin to credits in that regard.

As for more specializations, I agree about the long term. There will be additional spots on page 2 for the more long term characters, but I think two with six slots each is more than enough for a bit. It's up to the player which talents they deem important enough to be on "front page". New ones? Most used?

Heck, some players don't even want the specialization on the character sheet at all, they prefer to have separate talent tree pages. I will probably make a version accommodating that preference.

I love it. I was hoping someone would make a sheet that grouped skills by characteristic. Thanks.

Also, I look forward to the one that removes the specialization. I am one that prefers just using the talent tree sheets.

Great first page. My group may really enjoy using this one.

As for the 2nd page, not only would I recommend 3 specializations, I'd suggest having more spaces for obligations. Every form I've seen has space for 2. Most of the characters we've made start with at least 2, and theres oppurtunities to expand this during gameplay.

Nice work!

i really like this but how about page two . ..

I really like this one. It might become my go to sheet when finished. I wish there were a way to fit that third talent box on the front, but you've already got it filled pretty tight, so I can live with it on the back.

Working on it today. Hopefully by the weekend's end... (but you know how it goes - my job/wife/kids come first!)

I love how simple it is. I'm looking forward to more.
