I agree with your post jaradai, only thing i would like to add is that a finesse centered character sounds like a duelist to me, so i would suggest to take the makashi duelist spec (even ignoring the FR) and apply it to a vibrosword or vibrorapier. For most fights it may not make a difference, but once the finesse-centered character starts a duel it will shine.
Equivalent to "Weapon Finesse"?
A party needs both melee and ranged combatants. Hence... a party will need characters with high Brawn, and others with high Agility. "Finessing" numerous melee weapons in the book has the potential to break that design intent.
A party doesn't "need" anything of the sort. This ain't WoW or D&D.
It drove home to me (hearing Sam Stewart and Jay Little talk about it on the last episode of the Order 66 Podcast) how much the designers actively wanted to prevent there ever being a "god stat" in this game; whether it be a Skill or a Characteristic.
Well if that was their intent, it didn't really pan out. AGI is largely a god-stat in this system even though you don't roll defenses.

I suppose it is a matter of degree. I have seen systems that are far worse towards AGL & INT.
For those that don't quite get it think of your Skill as being your "Finesse" and your Brawn as being your ability to hit hard, which is basically how the rules work anyway. If your PC wants to be a Finesse fighter then take more Melee skill, Talents that reflect your individual style, and describe your attacks finesse-fuly .
There, now you have a Finesse-y PC and you don't have to House Rule anything or create a super stat.
Edit: The simple fact is that this combat system is generalised and the Attribute Skill mechanic allows a lot of latitude in how you describe your actions.

Oh, for sure!
A 4/4 spread on brawn and Int is pretty strong. Brawn gets double dip offence (to hit and to damage) abd double dip drfence (soak + wounds), and Inteligence has all thec important utility skills and knowleges.
And thats leaving out doctor/marauder or Talisman of iron fists.
Equivalent to weapon finesse?
It's called a Pistol
Another buffering aspect of the system is the ability of the dice to deliver weird results
Remember you probably won't have anywhere near enough chances to roll to get just mathematically 'average' results.
My Driver character was along to 'carry his book bag' for our Drall scholar character with Int5 and knowledge-whatever. He wasn't getting anywhere on a formidable roll (4 purples) deep in the sub basement of the great library on Drall. The driver says (basically) Hmmph - this is ridiculous. haven't you been paying attention? He points to one book and.... What about this? (rolls his three green dice against the four purple and gets 5 success and 4 threat.)
Well, at least I found the right book
Blast from the past... I'd forgotten all about this one.
