Is the Beginner's Game set redundant if you already have the Core Book? The only thing I think you get that would not be in the core book is the Escape from Mos Shuuta adventure (unless that is available for download somewhere).
Beginner's Game
I like it because you get some cool tokens, some cool maps (including a YT-1300 floorplan map), a (somewhat short) adventure, and best of all...an extra set of dice which costs $15 by itself anyway.
The only thing obsolete is the rulebook itself.
I don't think it's redundant. You get a good adventure. a really nice map set with pc and npc tokens. and on top of that DICE!
If you never played an RPG before it might be good. Also you get a pack of dice.
If you like maps, you got a a map over Mos Shuuta and a floorplan of an YT-1300. Also you get some destiny tokens and a short, simple adventure and a short-rule-book-thing.
In my oppinion its not worth it if you have the rulebook and some dice, unless you really want a YT-1300 floorplan map or are new to rpgs, then it does quite a good job how this game is supposed to be played.
Sold... Thanks for the responses!

More dice, some solid maps and an adventure that holds your hand while you try and figure out the game. Sounds like reason enough to me!
I think it is if you already have the rule book and a set of dice. The tokens are cool, but unless you are going to be using the PCs from the box all it really gives you is some stormtroopers, three tie fighters and a YT-1300. If you're not using the 1300 then one side of the map is useless to you. I'm glad I bought it when it cam out so I could try the game out, but if you have everything already, don't worry about it.
It's quite useful for the mini-rulebook, since it means you can use the core book, and your players can check in that book for system related stuff.

Not just the GM's hand, either. It's a great introduction for even experienced RPGers to the game mechanics, pacing them nicely for learning the game as a player.
