Lack of Generic Homeworld?

By Plushy, in Dark Heresy Second Edition Beta

The Beta lacks an Imperial World option for character creation. Was this on purpose? A vanilla planet has always been an option in Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, and Only War. If too vague, could an Agriworld option be included?

As currently available, there's a jump from "primitive savage from a wild tribe" to "savvy hiver with a finger on the trigger at all times" with little middle ground for an average person.

I think the old Imperial World has been replaced with the shrine World background.

I'm only saying that mostly because a shrine world is a type of imperial World.

The lack of Schola Progenium really does irk me. I understand it was in the Handbook for Dark Heresy as well, but when we have options for Adeptus Telepathica characters and "rogues", I really do wish it was there primarily for Adeptus Arbites characters since multiple times in lore we're told that this is where they come from. I know FFG has contradicted themselves a few times with this (hello Marshall Goreman), but it would be nice to see it.

Adeptus Arbites background being reccomended for Feral Worlders is also baffling, especially since in DH1 it was one of the few homeworlds that you couldn't make an Arbitrator from. I really wish FFG would make their mind up on if they want Arbiter to be specifically Adeptus or to just rename it as a more generic 'Enforcer'.

Instead of Imperial World I wouldn't have minded seeing say "Agri-World" and "Mining World" as potential backgrounds just because "Imperial World" does seem a bit too broad and undefined, but I'd take the latter over having nothing at all for those characters not born into relatively normal worlds.
