Weapons + modifications.

I'm getting ready for my first game of SW:EotE and I have a few questions about weapon modifications. For example I am looking at the Bowcaster accelerator enhancement. I know that it gives + 1 damage for 1 hard point. But for the mod options, you can give it +2 damage for +1 mods. Is that +1 damage per +1 mod slot? Or is it +2 damage for 1 slot? Same with the 2 weapon quality (Pierce +1) mods. So is it +1 mod for 2 pierce? or 1 pierce for 1 mod? I find their format a little confusing.

The number before the Modification type lists how many of that mod an item can have. The +1 value is how much each mod produces. So having 2 Damage +1 mods means you can modify if twice (with all the extra costs that includes), each time granting +1 Damage if you're successful.

it's an additional +1 damage per mod slot, or +1 Pierce per mod slot.

With any of the modifications, it's a +1 bonus per each mod slot, with the initial number simply being how many times you can apply that mod.

To use a different example, consider the Augmented Spin Barrel on page 188. Under modifications, it lists the following:

"2 Damage +1 Mods, 1 Weapon Quality (Accurate +1) Mod, 1 Weapon Quality (Pierce +1) Mod."

What this means is the attachment can be modified to include a +2 bonus to damage (the two Damage +1 modifications), 1 rank of the Accurate quality, and then 1 rank of the Pierce quality. Of course, giving the increasing difficulty of adding multiple modifications, a player without access to someone with a really good Mechanics dice pool will need to be careful in choosing which modifications to apply first to their weapon.

Hope this helps clear things up a bit.

Excellent, that is what I figured. Thank you for the quick replies.
