Ever wanna fly a FireFly?

By Zazztonater, in Rogue Trader

Can anyone point me in the direction of a ship that is very similar to the ship in the FireFly tv show? You remember that one right...lasted about 2 seasons...really good show.

I'm trying to build a in game version of that ship and cant find anything with stats in the size range of it. I want something that would be big enough to crew 10-15 and have enough room and accommodations for them and 30 or so passengers. I can find the actual stats on the FireFly ship if i just google it, but I'm looking for a ship(that might be in a book I have over looked) that is of similar size that has stats for the game i can use for comparison...

anyone wanna throw me a page number...or even what you think might be the stats for that ship

Thanky

You're basically looking for a guncutter. Warp-capable ships with that small a crew are effectively unique relics of the DArk Age of Technology and largely the purview of high-ranking Inquisitors for use in Mass Effect-style stealth insertions.

One of the smallest vessels (the Loki Q-Ship) is still over a dozen city blocks long, plus width and height and you'll soon realise it's much larger than Serenity was.

If you really want to capture the Firefly flavour then give your crew a Halo Barge (weaponless, just like the show!) from Into the Storm Page 183. Set your campaign in a Haven-type system with dozens of inhabitable planets and moons somewhere. Set your background so that the system has just finished a civil war about joining the Imperium, and they've recently been brought into the fold and are adapting to life under the not-so-gentle thumb of Imperial Life. The players then have to cultivate contacts with the various fringe groups that are still reluctant to fly the Aquila, and make cautious smuggling runs between the planets.

Erathai has the best point i'd say. ;P if i was in that idea i'd try to reenact the last battle of the movie. I'd drag a chaos fleet right through a nebula-this is assuming a) you last long enough and b) the chaos fleet doesn't get lost

If you really must why not go a mainly servitor crew. in that day n age they are seen more as machines n mechanisms (even if some are superstitious). A small transport, i'd go star clipper(Into the storm) since Serenity(firefly class ship) was fast n a cargo vessel. *also i'd suggest shadow blinds bay n smuggler bridge n such* If you want to keep the air of how alone they are just have the 'real' crew separate from the servitors. hell with the level of tech ignorance they could believe they were the only crew aboard
