intimidate / strength

By HastAttack, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Intimidate says: Characters with lower strength then the character with intimidate don't count their str when defending.

Is there a difference between actual strenght and the strength that is counted for challenge resolution

I'm thinking of i.e. Bloodriders Arakh

Attached character gets +1 STR and gains a War crest.
While attached character is attacking, defending characters are killed if their STR is 0.

If I attacked someone using a character with intimidate and one of my attackers has Bloodriders Arakh attached, can I kill defending characters whose strength is not counted?

I'm assuming no as their strength is just not being counted as isn't actually zero ... but I can hope!

"Strength does not count" is not the same as "Strength is 0". So, no that wouldn't work with Intimidate and Bloodrider's Arakh.

Also, Intimidate doesn't specify "when defending", so other attacking characters are affected.

Intimidate (Greyjoy)
While a character with the “Intimidate” keyword is attacking, characters with a lower STR than that character do not count their STR for that challenge.

Thanks - I picked up the "defending characters" from an earlier post ... which was corrected further down

While a character with the “Intimidate” keyword is attacking, characters with a lower STR than that character do not count their STR for that challenge. This includes other attacking characters
