NBN Deck List

By Cross and Key, in Android: Netrunner Deck Building

I have recently gotten into the game and absolutely love the concept. Between the LCG format itself and the asynchronous gameplay, I feel like Netrunner is one of the coolest games on the market right now. Add in the fact that I work at a LGS and I get a fair amount of opportunity to demo the game. Here's the issue: a large number of my games are my own decks against themselves. We are starting to grow our community (we just got our TO Kits in yay!) but for the most part there are about three of us that are consistent players. That doesn't leave a whole lot of experimentation or real learning curve against much. So what I was hoping is that I could get some feedback on my decklists and some ideas for where to tweak and what to leave alone. They all play fairly well right now, but I know they can all be fine tuned. Thanks for the help!

Deck Concept: Make the runner pay at every turn during the run for either outdoing the traces or busting the ice all the while canceling out any link advantage with Net Police. Bernie and the Herrings make things get nice and pricey, blow out the resources with closed accounts, and flood them with tags due to Data Ravens. Make them pay for overconfidence with the Dedicated Response Teams and Private Secs.

I think you over estimate Data Raven. Most runners won't risk it. It's more a ETR than building up tokens. Net Police is garbage, honestly. Too easy to trash and too hard to defend. Bernie and Herrings are good. Closed Accounts is good.

Breaking News x3

Project Beale x3

Private Security Force x3

Restructured Datapool x2

Ditch Restructured and load up on Astroscript. Astroscript is one of the best agendas out there (along with Project Beale).

Assets

Net Police x2

Ghost Branch x2

Marked Accounts x1

Dedicated Response Team x1

If you're going to play a dedicated response team deck, go for 2 or 3 of them. You really have to build the deck around it. Ditch Net Police, not worth the effort. Add another 2 marked accounts, just one is useless. Pad Campaign could also help.

Snares and Edge of the World are entertaining in NBN.

Upgrades

Red Herrings x2

Bernice Mai x2

Okay! SanSan if you want to fast advance as well

Operations

Scorched Earth x2

Hedge Fund x3

Freelancer x2

Big Brother x 2

Closed Accounts x2

If you're playing the Scorched Game, I'd shell out for 3 of them and definitely add 2-3 Sea Source.

ICE

Flare x1

Uroboros x1

Hunter x2

Shadow x2

Wall of Static x2

Enigma x2

TMI x2

Data Hound x2

Data Raven x3

Where are the Pop-Up Windows?!?!?!?!?

Where are the Tollbooths?!?!?!?!?!?

Flare is expensive and 'meh' in my opinion.

Caduceus is a great splash.

Ichi and Eli are also great splashes.

Could use more/better economy and a bit more focus. Tag'n'Bag is expensive to play.

I really appreciate all the feedback across all the decks. I'm going to play with all of them and try out your ideas. I have 3 core sets and a pair of each of the genesis cycle to mess with. The one that I was most suprised at was the Haas comments, but then again that was the one corp I was most inexperienced with. It seemed like if you were able to combo them out, they could do well.

When we had one more experienced player (he has since moved away) he always advocated running around the 17 ICE/49 card marks. Is this a bad idea? Our community is so infintesimally small here it's incredibly demoralizing, but we really want to get this game off the ground.

Also, am I wrong or does it seem like NBN has a lot of cross corp resources that are solid to splash around?

----

As for comments:

Go 2 Autoscripts out for the Restructureds?

Net police out for another Marked Accounts and DRT then?

Are the scorched worth running?

What should my ICE pattern look like?

It does depend on the deck, but in almost every deck I've seen 18-19 is on the low side, 20-21 is average, and 22-23 is very ice heavy.

Definitely!

Go 2 Autoscripts out for the Restructureds?

It'd have to be 3 as Restructured is a 3 pointer. Astro is just so stupid powerful it's a crime not to have them.

Net police out for another Marked Accounts and DRT then?

I'd play around with it. More economy is always good (I'd go for Private Contracts before Marked Accounts).

Are the scorched worth running?

If you build the deck entirely around it, then yes. Be aware that several runner decks (known as Tag-Me decks) will load up on Tags and just run a bunch of carapace and keep the corp poor. You'd need private security force, DRT, or other Tag punishment (closed accounts, psychographics, etc) to make them pay.

As an example I just played a game tonight as Andromeda against a Weyland deck with 3 Scorched Earth in it. I ended up winning the game 7 to 4 and finished with 18 tags on me. I never really felt any threat from being Scorched to death because I kept plascrete out and kept the corp poor.

What should my ICE pattern look like?

I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I might get rid of one breaking news just to reduce the agenda count. You have the influence for a second DRT, so why not pick that up. One of them really isn't worth it.

Freelancer might not be worth using. Runners that ignore tags tend not to run any resources. That being said, it can be useful. Personally I'd switch it for something else, but if it works for you, keep it.

With Big Brother, it might be worth putting psychgraphics in.

TMI is really expensive, but it is a higher strength barrier. Easier to rez with the recurring credits. If you have the influence, I'd suggest taking Eli 1.0 instead.

I don't see shadow being all that useful to you. You might want to strip those out for something beefier. You already have a lot of tagging in the deck. Maybe another Data Raven and something of your choice.

Tweaks based on those comments are in the edited deck list above.
