Healing Waters (LoR)

By amhutch, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Last night my group played Hero Among Thieves from LoR. In Encounter 2 part of the special rules read as follows:

Healing Waters

If a hero performs a rest, stand up, or revive hero action while in a water space, that heo rolls 1 red and 1 green power dice. The hero recovers <3 equal to the <3 rolled.

Normally if a hero stands up or revives another hero they would roll two red die. Is this healing waters on top of what they normally roll? So they would roll 3 red die and 1 green die?

We felt that Descent is usually very specific and states when things are extra over and above what is done under normal circumstances; this didn't and it threw us off a little bit.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated :)

I would believe that the three actions are made normally ("If a hero performs a ... action" does seem to say that it is performed as usual) - and the hero rolls the red and green dice in addition.

I agree with Robin.

So, for a revive action the hero preforming the action would roll two red power dice and heal the targeted figure of the hearts rolled. Then they would roll one red power die and one green power die and heal on hearts rolled (If they occupy a water space.)

If you preform a stand up action, you roll two red power dice and heal on hearts rolled, then roll one red power die and one green power die and heal of hearts rolled. (As long as you occupy a water space.).

I would see it that way.

Healing waters should improve the recovery of the hero (I know that this is a "thematic argument", but I believe that it still has some value in trying to get the intention of the rule).
