Speaking of dual wielding, are you planning on making dual wielders use two maneuvers (one each) to draw their weapons? Or do you let them draw both with one maneuver?
Dual Wielding - Why wouldn't you?
As far as I can tell, it would be one each, although a crafty PC might draw and fire w/ one looking for advantage to get the other out. Unless they had Quick Draw of coourse.
By rule, the Manage Gear maneuver allows you to "Draw, holster, ready or load a weapon". Strictly interpreted, that would be one weapon. Given the natural advantages of dual-wielding, I think it's fair to charge the extra maneuver for drawing a second weapon.
This makes filed sights on pistols a really nice get for dual-pistol wielders. In fact, one of the enemies in the Core Rulebook adventure has twin filed pistols for weapons, which is pretty cool.
Hmm, yeah, that's fair. And filing down a front sight is like, super inexpensive/free with a PP mechanics check. And plenty of trees give you quick draw, and plenty of attachments can pick up where that leaves off.
In my group, I think dual wielding rule is already good enough. Because we have many type of usage and they have both advantage and disadvantage in each ways.
Example
Light Saber with shield
Advantage: gain 2 defense (it is very good)
Disadvantage: Have to have brawn at least 3 to carry shield, shield is heavy(encum), no empty hand to use a maneuver to grab stim and inject(have to put down sword first (1 move) grab stim(2 move) inject(well... can not do 3 move) this disadvantage is big enough to cover up two set back dice from shield.
Dual same weapon(2 pistols, 2 light sabers)
If player choose to do this they will have to always increase 1 difficulty dice they can not say they will use only 1
Advantage: have "link" quality.
Disadvantage: 1 more difficulty dice , no hand free to use stim or grenade (grenade also use with range light skill and very good to deal with mobs) not enough maneuver to use it in 1 turn.
and in my group 2 weapon always fire with both of them but without 2 advantage we say the shots are half accurate and calculate damage the same way 1 weapon did.
Dual different weapon(1 pistol+1 light saber)
In this case they will have to choose which one they want to use or they can use both at the same time(even if it looks weird)
Advantage: many options, can use 1 and suffer no penalty or can use both and use dual wield penalty.
Disadvantage: no empty hand for stim, bomb, etc. Hard to use. Have to spend xp in both light saber and range light.
And for weapon that need both hand to use such as rifle I allow user can temporary hold it with 1 hand if they want to use another hand to do other stuff such as grab stim, grab the bome, grab the rope. But if they just want to shot a rifle with 1 hand I will give them +1 difficulty dice(harder to aim) and +1 set back dice(feels heavy and clumsy) if character have brawn lower than 3 or +2 set back dice if they have just 1 brawn.
(If I use wrong grammar or you feels my language is weird, I'm very sorry about my lag of writing skill.)
