Why should dragons have all the fun?

By DarkImbolc, in Talisman Home Brews

Recently, I had a thought about expanding the selection of dragon kings (props to the folks at Talisman Island and the equally awesome crew at Strange Eons!). Shortly after this, however, it occurred to me - why just dragons? Aren't there other staple fantasy groups quite capable of destruction and tyranny?

I would like to present Lethe, Lich Lord (and his associated associates) for comments and suggestions.

I am also working on the following additional groups:

* The Orc Horde

* A Demonic Throng

* A swarm of Elementals

* Old Ones and associated

Other possibilities:

* Lizard Men

* Steampunk-ish machines

I should also point out that the undead deck is not complete at the moment. I am still working on 5 Magic Objects, 3 Places and 4 Strangers to finish it off.

It looks quite nice. I noticed on the Vampire Princess (Kudos for using a female vamp!) that no Craft level is indicated.

But they are a pretty cool idea.

Thanks for the catch. She's been fixed - Craft 9 (like her brother in the Dungeon)

I've developed all the cards for the next set: The Orc Horde of Or'grak

She has another Brother, from the Blood Moon expansion. I'll check out the Orcs too.

Very nice sets of cards! It's good to see someone thinking outside the box a little.

If you want me to change the "Dragon Rage" title to something more suitable for each card, let me know via email on the site (link below). I am sure people will manage to fathom out that "Whatever Rage" is equivalent to "Dragon Rage" when the rules call for it...

Really great work. I'm looking forward to seeing the other card sets now.

The orcs are very intriguing, and the goblins too. Great work and a great idea too.

These look very nice too. I know you mention Old Ones, but can you explain the reference, if any, to the King in Yellow, or is that 'of' Yellow.

At any rate these are really nice. I have to ask, do you create the artwork too? Or were do you come up with this? Great all the way through.

Strictly speaking, it isn't Lovecraft but rather one of his inspirations ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_in_Yellow ). In the general Mythos, however, The King in Yellow is one of Hastur's avatars.

Sadly, I am no artist, so I have to thank Google for the images.

I've made a small adjustment to the Draconic Lord template in my version of the Strange Eons plugin for Talisman to allow for alteration of the "Rage" title.

I will think about making it widely available for now as I have quite a few additions to make for the City assets etc PLUS I was hoping to update the whole plugin to work seamlessly with Strange Eons 3. We shall have to see how that goes...

The Deadwood enemy card doesn't have Craft value. The Lich card has a pretty common effects, but I must say that the artwork You found for these cards is mostly very good.

Awesome stuff!

Goblin Decoy FTW.

Deadwood has been fixed (Strength 6); Lethe has been changed over to the new 'Rage Effect' and has a new Rage - a bit more deathly. I have also added a few more cards to finish out the Lich Lord deck.

Hi,

I like your work. One thing, some of your Enemy - Monsters with strength are numbered as 3 and 4, is this on purpose?

I did 'mix-it-up' with a few of the cards to make some of them interesting (and more in keeping with the theme). The 4's were meant to be slow, but I suspect some were a mistake... I'll have to review them again.

By the by, any suggestions on how to engineer the backs for these?

If you send me over the images you have used for the 'bosses', I will try to come up with something suitable for you.

@Thernand - I just did a few more rounds of proofing on the cards. The only enemies now that are #4's are supposed to be that way.

@Talismanisland - I just sent them over your way via email. Thank you so much in helping me with this set. I really appreciate it.

Tokens have been created for the new Kings. I've placed them in the same folders.
