What would you like to see?

By Drop Bear, in Tannhauser

I'm wondering, just as a "Keep the Line Alive" move would you like to see from ToY and FFG?

Well from FFG I'd like to see a Non-LE Wolf, but they seam to be keeping their reaming stocks of him as Prizes for contests and the Monthly Raffles (nothing wrong with that, but some folks especially in 2ndary Markets missed out on the special offer).

From Both I'd like to see a "Tokens Pack" say once a year to eighteen months with all the tokens from the last year (and a bit) that didn't make it in to an Expansion and won't appear in the next Quarters main line products, in the back of the Booklet through in a bunch of Scenarios from the same period.

Alternatively (along the same lines) a Campaign Pack with Tokens, (full size) Rule Book, Crib Sheet (like the ones in the Main game), this would be a relativity cheap way to put out a release since their would me no Minnies or Game Boards.

an other one aimed at FFG, A hurry up on the Troops Pack since as far as I can see their would be very little Translation work in bringing it out, so making it an other possibility.

any of these ideas would be a cheap way to keep the line alive, and give ToY and FFG some breathing room to work on their Major Releases. What do folks think?

Just though of an other one, Faction Dice Packs (Inspired from the Tannhauser Dice Thred), just use the Dice pattern from the Core Game, Blue Dice with Yellow Numbers for Union, Red with Yellow for Matriarchy and just sell the Core Game Dice seperataly for Reich.

Releasing Wolf again would definitely be a good move. Players who missed out the first time would surely like a second shot at getting him. I would also like to see the below.

1. A male Union hero with a UK background.

2. More maps.

3. An advanced option of the game which introduces supporting cards to shake up gameplay. I was hoping field op's was going to do this.

4. More grunts. Different casts not just repaints.

5. Larger maps.

6. Step up the release times of product. Doesn't have to be just minis although at least one every four months would be good.

Also does anyone know what ever happened to the Golden Globe Social Club or whatever it was called.

I would like:

1. Quarterly releases (of any kind) from FFG.

2. Ikarus Faith as a mercenary character. Two mercenary Troopers would be handy too.

3. The rumored Trooper Pack to be released.

4. A scenario pack that features accurate ToY scenarios (with scenario tokens) that are not yet in print.

5. FFG's map to be thoroughly playtested and then released as an expansion like Daedalus.

Got a genie?

Hey, the question was what I would like to see , not what we are likely to see . No need for pragmatism.

haha =)

I would call it loss of hope due to FFG.

* More maps. Maybe a modularised(!) set of smaller rooms or outdoor areas with separate connecting paths/panels to allow different setups.

* More troopers

1. I would like to see more (different) troopers.

2. More epic gameplay, with more troopers and heroes, bigger maps. (would really love to become this more like a mini game tho the map system can still be there)

3. More frequent releases and support from FFG (translation of bonus tokens, fluff text, timedifference between french and american releases reduced)

I was thinking something like this but then thought the pathfinding system could make this quite tricky.

True, but not unattempted. Miah999 has done a modular map set up utilizing Hybrid and Betrayal at House on the Hill . These files can be downloaded over at Black Sheep Archives . It can be done with some slight effort.

Thanks for that link, going to have to try that out.

Even though I haven't committed any money to it, the following would help my decision:

- A map/campaign pack . Perhaps a theme to each; one could be a "secret project" where the defending team is protecting a research lab deep within the homefront, confident that enemy X couldn't possibly strike them this close to their capitol... When surprise, suprise, the attacking player is in command of that very enemy X. You're pretty much assured three maps in that pack. Other campaigns could revolve around visiting "neutral" territories such as Africa (site of a few major campaigns in WWII) or South America (which has a rich occult history) and going head to head with a team of Reich occult specialists out for fabled artifact of ultimate power Y.

- The option to buy a map/dice pack and the armies seperately instead of relying on boxed sets. Okay, perhaps this is not as big of a deal as I make it out to be. Compared to the uber-ridiculous Warhammer 40k, Tannhauser is actually quite reasonable; especially the starter set. But perhaps FFG might want to at least toss around the idea of having one box of maps and dice, then a "starter set" box for each army with the booster packs released as they have been. Just my two cents.

While I admit this is somewhat offtopic and is probably a noobish question, what is Japan doing?

I'd like to see right Russian names and words in Operation Novgorod expansion. The words are the sequences of Cyrillic letters which mean nothing at all. And the names of heroes are rather funny. For example Irina and Irishka are the same names (like John and Johnny), and Zorka is the common cow's name... Gorgei? What's it? It's not a name.

So, I think when you do something, you should do it good. Especially if you make a game for different people.

Dear balury,

Yes, I am agreed with you (I'm from Ukraine myself and know about russian names) as for Irishka (as for her last name should be Voronina, not Voronin, I don't even say about her name - Irishka it is the same as Irina). But as for name Gorgei - this is how in Old Slavonic language russian name GEORGIY was called during XI-XII cent., which later tranformed into name YURI. It is the most evident - because St. Matriarchy is very religious and is a mix-up of soviet and old slavonic cultures (what a great controversial combination! - communists were atheists and pre-revolution Russian Empire - too religious). So, his name in modern life could be: YURI VOLKOV

As for Zorka and her sister armours (Zorka - is the armour which is put on a woman-archimandrite - and then she becomes posessed with slavic diety, which in turn gives her great powers) called Vetchorka and Polunochka - these were three brothers - wariors (bogatyrs - in russian) from russian folk story, these were birthed - one in the evening(the eldest brother), second - at night , and the third - in the early morning (the youngest brother). So, these are not the names of the cow at all.

Those men at TOY company seem to know our history and pagan cults of ancient Slavs very well.

Sergey

I think what's killing the Russians is the Translations from old Russian and other Slavic toungs in to French, then back out in to other Modern lanwages.

Dear Sereja,

Yes, I am agreed with you (I'm from Ukraine myself and know about russian names) as for Irishka (as for her last name should be Voronina, not Voronin, I don't even say about her name - Irishka it is the same as Irina). Georgiy and Yuri are the same names only in English. In Russia (and in Ukraine too) these names are different... Well, maybe the creators of the game mean something giving the names to the characters. By the way, according to English grammar (but not the Russian grammar indeed) the last name of Irishka should be exactly Voronin.

Yes, I forget about them, you're right.

Those men at TOY company seem to know our history and pagan cults of ancient Slavs very well.

Maybe, but all "Russian" words are still absurd, aren't they?

I find this discussion interesting, thanks to Sergey and balury for the info.

And also it will be great to see more new game boards! And - if it possible - the better quality of them.

Yes, indeed, Georgiy and Yuri are different names in Russia and Ukraine, but this Georgiy is a different name - by the modern style it is written as Jeorge in English. In old slavonic language there was no such name as Yuri - it was pronounced as Gorgei, Gurgei or Gurgev. So, the name Gorgei shows its old slavonic origin - as the St. Matriarchat is.

As for Irishka Voronin - her last name should be written as VORONINA - according to russian grammar.

Also regarding future Tannhauser products, I'd like to see in future:

1. Operation Daedalus, Troop Pack.

2. Free sale WOLF

3. Printed winter packs and tokens from scenarios.

In other words, to see that FFG wants to promote this interesting game!

well, thanks for the information about russian names, very interesting.

when you will go to the toy side, you will see, that the next expansions will be:

1. deadalus

2. oksana (russia)

3. hass (reich)

4. hoax (union)

also, the german distributor announced a trooper pack, containing trooper for all three fractions.

And the german redistributor promised WOLF in may. :-)

As for WOLF - wil it be in English?

He should be. The one I bought along with Yula was in English.
