Are there major changes to hard mode?
Anyone in the L.A. Area interested in a game tonight?
Are there major changes to hard mode?
Welllll... Some of the scenarios are easier than others, I amped up all the scenario difficulties, some significantly. None of the scenarios are guaranteed losses, but none of them are near guaranteed wins either (and some far less so than others). There was this one scenario I playtested that was extremely difficult and stressful. I think it had something like 8 toughness monsters that freeze movement in adjacent spaces infesting the board. You'll definitely get bragging rights for beating that though ;'D it was a *really* brutal slog for me. I think I still have PTSD from it nearly two years later.
I can promise you some extremely epic failures (and successes) if you do the hard mode. But also madness and death (and I don't mean the cards) ;'D
Mm, there's also some rules modifications (you only get to carry over items from two of the characters instead of 4, IIRC).
I'll see if I can find it and post it (up to scenario 23) on the website tonight or tomorrow if I can find it.
Edited by Avi_dreaderI'll play the hard mode. But before I start playing it, I need to finish studying Miskatonic Horror. This means only 194 games, and I'm done. Be patient

Keep waiting and I might ask you to help me design the hard mode for scenario 24. Sort of like asking you to help me dig your own grave. Then again, I do build my own caskets ;')
Edited by Avi_dreaderYes, it'd be like staying in the same family for a while. For 24, I want the Thing in the Rifts.
Anyhow, significant improvement from normal to hard mode: no ES (at least, that's what you said via e-mail)

Welllll... I basically want to slow the game down so more of the effects get triggered, so the main thing is figuring out how to do that while not making the scenario impossible. Things in the Rift is possible ;') but again, will need to think about it and ::shudder:: playtest it.
Aye, agreed, it's totally possible, plus a lot of fun.
A suggestion, to make the League enjoyable in both ways: you could consider changing a couple of things here and there. Maybe a different Scenario for each segment, using some of the new Heralds you designed, or I designed, or someone else's designed

Complicated proposition. I don't want to do any more writing :'/ Julia, make your own league already :'D
:laughter: I've been stuck on the latest herald we designed for two months. Do you really think I have the time to start a League? And who will play it then?

Who knows? If you build it, they will play ;')
