Wave 2 Reprint all sold out in shops!!!

By elveciosan, in X-Wing

Wave 2 Reprient all sold out in shops? I need buy TIE Intercpetors, but all sold out in shops! Where i can buy TIE Interceptors for international shipping?

I was in Barnes n nobles yesterday and they had starter kits, wave 1 and wave 2 ships. They had like three interceptors. You can always order from their online.

Whew...it appears more and more that i got lucky when i ordered my 4 Interceptors back when Minimarket got that surprise stock in.

Thanks paypal account for having money in it!

I don't understand how they cant manage to keep items in stock regularly.

We have ordered so much X-Wing, some restocks on Wave 2 will be rolling in a little later today and next week.

Unfortunately, this restock is again allocated so no matter how much we order, we have yet to get a "full" restock on the sold out items.

Everything is made in China. Shipping in a shipping container is the same price if you fill it to the brim in gold bullion or put a single grain of rice in the container. It makes sense to have a full container or two on a boat instead of air shipping or sending small batches. Demand has far out stripped supply for this game resulting in high prices.

Yes, but why so long? I can understand that some of the Wave 2 stuff is behind because it was probably in the pipeline before they realized they needed more. But by the time Wave 2 actually hit the stores everyone knew that the game was a hit.

They should have been caught up by now, but I still can't find really anything with regularity.

FFG doesn't have a very good track record of supply chain management, across lots of different games.

Okay, you scared me. I just ran out to my FLGS and bought two more TIE Interceptors and an A-Wing.

It's frustrating to have to buy everything at once when it comes available for fear of it selling out. So wave 3 pre order is up, better get a pair of B wings and a HWK before those are gone. Oh and wave 2 is back in stock, so I could get some use out of 2 A wings. But I also want to run 4 interceptors, I can't buy all that at once due to other expenses, and when I can the only places that sell seem to have the prices ratcheted way up.

And with that said, why do people go out and buy way more of a ship than they can possibly field. Every now and then I see a collection that includes something like 9 A wings, or 13 interceptors or whatever. Why? If you know supply is limited, only buy a few and save some for the rest of us.

Some of us have larger fields to play in. Not everyone sticks to playing just 100 point games. The game works quite well for big scenario games with lots of players and lots of ships. When I buy into miniature gaming for any period, I build up enough to run large games at local clubs and conventions.

Thanks for the info JOE. I've been checking MM stock about every 20 minutes all day for Interceptors and just saw them in stock (I have a desk job where i can watch all day). Ordered 3. Great prices and your presence and info on these forums is why I have bought my whole fleet from your store and will continue to do so.

They seem to do batch productions for all their game. They have an idea of what they want/can produce to sell and when the runs are about done, they place another order, perhaps increasing the unit count.

No sense in keeping thousands of units sitting around if it isn't economical in doing so to keep their funds flowing properly.

They have a lot of games and items in their catalogues.

I know one thing...I am in B&N all the time it seems like....just looking for the minis!

I guess the demand is a good thing...means longer support and more new minis from FFG!

What good are new minis if I can't buy them?

Ok, ok, I kid, I kid. But only kinda.

I have had great luck in B&N. The one near me and Slave1, Falcon as well as core set and A-Wings.

Agreed about Barnes and Noble. They're a big enough store that they can buy up a good stock and since they're a chain they're always willing to ship between stores if you're polite and they have one nearby with the goods. They aren't a game store so people don't go there instinctively. It's generally worth a browse or a call.

As far as the general availability issues I always remind myself that while FFG is a big name in Niche gaming, it's still niche gaming. They can only afford to hire so many factories to produce this stuff.

  • Just wondering if you can order online on Barnes and Noble for Wave 2 stuff. I attempted to find some Interceptors but I had no luck on their site. I hope MM gets some in stock this week, I work nights and I missed out on the ships they had on the 19th.

I think B&N.com removed all of the expansions from their online store. I searched for them last week and they no longer come up in search results.

I have had no luck on the B&N website as well.

If anyone is in the SE michigan area, the B&N on Orchard Lake Rd near 16 mile had 1 Interceptor left on their shelf. As crazy as it sounds, i don't need anymore Interceptors (got lucky through MM one day).

Hopefully someone near there will see this, and give it a loving foam case to rest in before being called on to destroy Rebel scum...

Game Kastle in Fremont, CA just got a stock of Wave 2 in. They're full up.

I usually collect up to four of each kind of small ship... I haven't gone out to purchase a fifth interceptor. I just bought a core set the other day for cheap at target but decided to hand it off to a friend of mine who needs the fighters and the supplies.
