I'm fairly new to the game and looking for some players to meet up with in the Austin area. I went to Mothership games a couple times on their Star Wars game night but my wife and I and one other couple were the only ones playing. I saw the old post about the regional tourney at Dragon's Lair, anyone here play there regularly? I need more people to play with, my wife enjoys it but when I win, well it's just not fun for those involved....if you know what I mean

I usually play at Dragon's Lair on Thursday night. There are a few of us who play there regularly.

I've been thinking about stopping by Mothership, glad to hear the situation there.

i just started playing and was looking for a place to play. what time are the games at Dragons Lair on Thursdays? i saw the monthly open gaming night on their calendar, but no info on Thursday. also are there any organized games in south Austin? i checked out Whose Turn Is It games, but their bi-weeklys seem to be no more.

Thursday is traditionally the Warhammer 40k night, but since they moved to the new location with more space it has turned into Sci-Fi miniatures game night. There is still a lot of 40k, but a good mix of X-Wing, Infinity and Dust Warfare as well.

Usually there are X-Wing people there from 6pm to 10pm, though usually theres a break for dinner.

awesome! are point limits the same every week or are they set the week before?

We usually play standard 100 point games. Though we are pretty flexible and have no problem going up or down from there.

You know, if we get a few more regulars, we might need to start a league.

Or some team games.

Nice to put some faces to names. I wish I could make it Saturday but I'm on vacation for a week. I'll be back in 2 weeks for the Thursday night meet up though.

I hope to start coming by to play as soon as I can actually buy some ships!

looks like i wont be able to make it tonight after all. but i am planning to make it on thursdays.

We ran a 2v2 game on Saturday and threw in a Blockade Runner to spice things up. Lots of fun.

I think it still needs some tinkering, but I do like the dramatically descending evade dice mechanic.

Whose Turn Is It? Games in South Austin has weekly casual play Saturdays at 1pm. Also this Saturday (Sep. 28th) at 1pm we will be hosting a tournament. Signups start at noon. Free entry this time. We'll be using the Fantasy Flight Organized Play Kit for tournament prizes and structure.

Starting this week I'll be at Dragon's Lair on Monday nights playing X-Wing starting around 7pm, and at Mothership Games on Tuesdays, also around 7pm.

Last night at Dragon's Lair was quiet, just my wife and me, but I'm hoping to start meeting other X-Wing players around town.

I'll try to make it to Whose Turn Is It? on Saturday!
