First Runner Deck: Andromeda please advise

By KnightofMirrors, in Android: Netrunner Deck Building

Hello Everyone. I've played about 5 games (but only as the runner) and I picked up one of everything that's been released. So far I've used my friend's Gabriel Santiago Deck and then I quickly threw together a Chaos Theory Deck that I used for a few games. Now I'm trying to actually put together my own deck and I thought Andromeda might be a good place to start. Here's what I've got so far:

Runner: Andromeda, Dispossessed Ristie

Programs:

3x Faerie

1xFemme Fatale

2xPheromones

2xMedium (6 influence)

2x Aurora

2x Peacock

Events:

3x Emergency Shutdown

3x Inside Job

3x Special Order

3x Easy Mark

3x Diesel (6 influence)

3x Notoriety (3 influence)

Resources:

3x Kati Jones

3x Public Sympathy

3x Mr. Li

3x Armitage Codebusting

Hardware:

2x doppelganger

1x HQ Interface

So the basic idea is to just get going as soon as possible. Andromeda starts with 20% of her deck in her hand, which I thought should be enough that I should be able to do a run on turn 1 or 2. Diesel, of course, will help me keep my hand full of those beautiful cards as well as helping me get needed cards sooner. My games using Chaos Theory showed me that Notoriety can make the difference between winning games and losing games, but it takes four actions to pull off (3 runs and the event), by comboing that with doppelganger however, I buy myself an extra action. I'm hoping Inside Job + Emergency shutdown will help me keep the corp's defenses down that I can do some successful runs without needing to use too many resources on icebreakers. I'm most nervous about my programs, espescially Medium since it takes up so much influence.

since I'm so new to the game, any help would be appreciated. It may also be important to note that I'll most likely face NBN followed by Jinteki.

I haven't actually tried Andromeda yet, but this looks pretty good to me!

I'm not sure Doppelganger/Notoriety is the way to go, you're not really getting anything out of Doppelganger on turns you don't score Notoriety, but if it works in your local scene, great.

Hello

Trying to use Notoriety+Doppelganger is a good idea but it is hard in Criminal as the Archives tends to be well protected.

Some obvious advices :

- Aurora is a horrible breaker; if you want a barrier breaker, you should use Corroder instead. switching Medium for R&D interface to gain influence.

- Kati jones x2 is enough.

- You should try to keep Sure Gamble, as you have a good chance to play it from your starting hand for a great start.

- If you mostly face NBN, try Compromised Employee.

For example :

-3 diesel, -2 medium, -2 aurora, -1 kati jones, -1 public sympathy

+2 quality Time, +2/3 R&D interface, +2 corroder, +3 Sure gamble

I hope it will help you a little.

Kati is a strong money maker, but very slow. I don't know if she's the best bet for Andy, who's only advantage is on turn one. Consider the in-faction Bank Job for one or two of the Kati's. Those can grab 7 fast bits off something like a PAD campaign, and even just seeing one played could move some ICE off the main servers you plan to attack for notoriety. I'm not really sure about that whole plan though... Criminal is an expensive faction that gains money well, but trying to run three servers in one turn often will break your bank quickly. This is an awful lot of work for 1 agenda point...

I agree with the above post that your Sure Gambles should be back in as well. Very good card for Andy.

Also, what's with three public sympathies? Get brain damaged a lot? Your deck only has two situational cards that you'd want to hold (ES and IJ), so your hand size of 5 should be fine.
