I just figured I'd start a thread for those little tidbits, 1 scene or less couple of paragraph things we end up with from time to time.
Here's my first:
On a silver trinket she was hung. Not a blade or a word or some devilish spite but a pretty little bauble brought her to the gallows tree. And the man who broke her, beat her, bent her to his wrath, sees her with only the contemptuous pity reserved for the agonies of vermin.
After a moment he turned and walked away, his shoulders unbowed by conscience or melancholy. He did not feel the eyes upon his back or know the heart that cursed him.
