Destiny Points: Why only four tokens and what to do about it.

By mrvander, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Well, since you end up needing like 2 sets of dice minimum, and 3-4 is more likely, I think we'll all eventually have enough tokens. lol

I can't give enough love to the starter box though. The adventure and free follow up adventure is a good 3 - 6 sessions. With a little tweeking you can use your own characters. Lots of neat little tokens for various purposes. Nice little pre-fab character folios for someone that wanders into a game at the last minute or is new to RPGs. A set of dice.

Sometimes I just write the number of lightside/darkside destiny points on a bit of paper, and change it when I need to but I like to take risks like that. ;)

Cheapest: Pennies.

Cheaper: Home-made paper tokens. Use what you have lying around. I'd use MS Word, making 1" circles with graphics/pictures of my choice. Print. Glue onto 3x5 cards and cut out. You could just cut 1" circles from 3x5 cards and color one side with a black marker.

Cheap: Washers from your FLHS (Friendly Local Hardware Store), painted black on side and white on other, or glue round pictures on each side.

I also like the ideas from above: poker chips, Othello tokens, glass beads, paper records.
