newb question on limited cards

By ssalo7, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

when it says you can play one limited card does that mean lay one into play or does it mean that you can only receive the boost like +1 gold off of one card that is already in play.

was just playing someone and they were receiving 7 gold from limited cards each round, is that how the cards are supposed to be played?

Thanks in advance.

"Limited" is only about how many cards you play in a turn (note that cards that are put into play do not count against the limit). Once they're in play, they all count.

"Limited" means one card with the word Limited can be put into play by the player per round.

Also only one "Limited" can be played during the setup phase.

Receiving 7 gold is possible from Limited locations provided they played one Limited location during setup and only one during each marshalling phase.

Also only one "Limited" can be played during the setup phase.

Fixed. Careful on mixing up those game terms. Putting a limited card into play is a way to get around the keyword and it's deserved for the effort.

Further fixed as setup is not playing the cards, but placing them. That's why you can't trigger the "after you play" or effects on cards when they are in your setup.
