Edge of the Empire - Appendix N

By Ebon Meerkat, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm surprised nobody has suggested anything from the Clone Wars series, and I'll duck if necessary. While it is largely dated in 22-19 BBY range, any of the episodes that deal with bounty hunters or the criminal elements anywhere within the galaxy of Star Wars represents something that either doesn't really change with the rise of the Empire, or if anything is even more pronounced under Imperial rule.

I can't name the episodes specifically, but I have to say that when they start dealing with the pirates or bounty hunters, it gives a bit of insight and ideas. One episode even shows how various bounty hunters can pick up an acquisition without even having to meet the one posting the bounty...

^ Any episode with Cad Bane or the Weequay pirates would fit right in to EotE.

This might be a fitting source for inspiration for an EotE game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic video game. Specifically, the Smuggler and the Bounty Hunter, since they probably have the most EotE themed stuff with them. But, all of the classes interact with fringe society to some degree, so yeah. Also the game rocks and I don't care what the haters say.

The Old Republic: Deceived (book.) One of the main characters is an Exchange smuggler who is forced to run spice to buy a repulsorchair for his paraplegic daughter. Then, he has to make a delivery to Coruscant. While the Empire is blockading it immediately after the sacking. Also, lots of cool Jedi and Sith stuff (Darth Malgus Woo!)

Borderlands 1 and 2 (non-SW video game). Hunting after mysterious alien vaults on crazy desert planets full of bandits and fringe worlders? Sign me up. Would also make an excellent alternate EotE setting!
