Swapping and trading

By daemonkin, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Just curious as I could nothing about it in the rules. Can investigators 'pool' their clue tokens or give them to other players when needed?

D.

oh, no ~ that's a classic mistake by new players. While Investigators can trade myriad Items, cash, etc., thou shalt not trade Clue tokens...a lesser known 11th commandment

And you CAN trade during the movement phase, right?

And yeah, Patrice, an Investigator, can allow you to give away and use HER clue tokens but it's because of that ability that she is considered broken. Very, very broken.

You absolutely can trade during the Movement Phase . Correct, as a matter of course, you may not trade Clue tokens, but there a few Items, one or two Mythos cards (I believe), and of course, Patrice with whom you're permitted to trade them.

Yes, you can trade at any point during the movement phase. And only during that phase.

As for clues: as the others said, there are a couple of occasions in which you may trade clues (IIRC, a Condition Card from Dunwich, a Mythos card from King in Yellow, a green Other World encounter and a few other things - very few). Clues are the most valuable resource of the game, and there are specific design reasons because you're not allowed to trade them.
