"The Wheel"

By MrDodger, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi,

Does anyone know if The Wheel space station from the old Marvel comics has ever been detailed in RPG terms anywhere? I'm looking to use it as a setting for EotE.

Cheers!

You might want to check out the first EOTE adventure when it comes out. Beyond The Rim will be set, in part, aboard The Wheel.

And I think the date for the Beyond the Rim adventure is September. I'm really, really looking forward to that release.

Yeah I went to the FFG SW Experience for 04May, and Sterling ran an adventure on The Wheel, presumably because he had some of those resources handy after writing the aforementioned adventure. You shouldn't have to wait long on that one.

That said, I can tell you that in this game, they aren't going to give "stats" for a space station so much. That is probably something that, if statted at all, will be treated like a planet (unless it is a really really small station, which the Wheel is not). Stats wise, this game handles anything that large as a narrative element.

So I guess we should quell Death Star stat talk now...

More of the "fleet-scale" combat type stuff might be a larger element of the Rebellion side of the game, but it really just isn't relevant to the Edge of the Empire concept/setting. I understand players love having stats for things, even if its just to have them for the theoretical discussion of them. For the time being, I'd imagine stuff like the ISD, Death Star, Executor, etc, is going to exist solely in the realm of homebrew.

I homebrewed some Death Star Stats:

DEATH STAR

Skills
CAN DESTROY PLANETS.

1 SPECIAL WEAKNESS (tiny hole nearly impossible to shoot at)
In order to destroy the death star, make an Education(Int) check to
determine if you are Luke Skywalker. Note that you are NOT
Luke Skywalker. But if you are, go for it dude. You go for that

Death Star.

to be fair, WEG's stat block for things like The Wheel or the Death Star are the same as the ones they use for Planetary Systems. Things like length of day, year, major population centers, trade needed/available, etc...

The stats for things like Star Destroyers were included to be part of fleet actions, not for small player groups to try and take on, unless they were Rogue/Wraith Squadron.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to find it though.

Thanks, yeah - looks tricky to find.

You know the wacky thing? I read that when it was first posted and completely forgot about it! Thanks :)

Actually, not true! There's a full statblock for the Death Star in The Death Star Technical Companion .

...just in case it's absolutely vital to your game to know how many times you die instantly. :P
