"A Much Larger Galaxy..." converted to EotE

By Donovan Morningfire, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Those folks from the WotC Star Wars forums during the heyday of WotC's Saga Edition will probably recall the introductory adventure that one Mr. David "grubman" Bezio put together during the early days of the system.

Well, back in January, I got his permission to do an Edge of the Empire conversion of the module. Which admittedly took a lot longer than I had anticipated, mostly due to various distractions such as writing GSA articles, the day job, Disney vacation, and work on my "Ways of the Force" fan supplement.

So after several months of on-again, off-again effort, this excellent Saga Edition free adventure is now available for use by EotE GMs both new and inexperienced.

"A Much Larger Galaxy" for Edge of the Empire

I've also included five brand new pre-generated player characters for this adventure, should a GM want to run this simply as a one-shot or as a convention module. The character sheets are those designed by GM Chris for his "Enemy of My Enemy" pre-gens, so it'll be handy to help new players get a feel for the system. Like the original, the ending can easily be tailored for usage as the launching point for an on-going campaign.

Hopefully my conversion efforts will prove useful and helpful in introducing new players to FFG's very cool Star Wars RPG.

Just downloaded it, definitely going to check it out. Definitely helps me to run something so I can get my players interested while I work on my own campaign

Sounds like quite the undertaking Donovan! I'm excited to read this and use it :)

Thanks so much for your hard work!

So I've been reading this adventure--looks great! It's not one I ever used or knew about with Saga Edition.

It's going to work out great with my players, and I already have all the optional maps featured in the adventure.

i wanted to let you know there are some small typos on page 8, in the Kelliokie's Cantina section. "There a couple of beat up labor droids" should be "there are a couple of beat up labor droids", and "there's also a junky speeder trucks" should be (I think) "there's also a junky speeder truck". On page 10 "Zen" is used instead of "Zan", and on page 12 in the Bantha Rock read-aloud section it says "the twin vibroblades that you when from before ..."

I don't know if this is from the original text or just got (understandably) overlooked as you were preparing it to be posted, and it's very minor, but just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Thanks again for doing this, I'm going to use this adventure.

Thank you very much

Yeah, not surprised there's a few typos, as I had to revise and revamp several bits from the original version. That and my usual beta-editor has been rather busy with other things, so it didn't really get a proof-read before I posted it.

I'll update the soft copy with the errors you listed. If you come across anymore, just PM them to me.

Thanks

Just double checking, this setting will work perfectly fine with custom made characters? Are there any special considerations I should make upon creation of characters?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to read it, and more importantly, play it!

That's great, thanks for doing this. Will defo be giving this a whirl!

This adventure works perfectly well with custom-made characters. The adventure itself is "character-neutral," with only the Appendix detailing possible Obligation results being geared towards the pre-gens. So if you've got players that want to make their own characters, go for it.

If you do create custom characters, in lieu of starting with a spaceship right away, allow any character with a rank in Piloting (Planetary) that wants one to start with a Zephyr-G swoop bike and then a landspeeder that's assumed to have enough space to carry the rest of the party for everyone else... although if you could also scrap the chase sequence, which is really the only place having a vehicle matters where the adventure is concerned.

Great job! Downloaded!
