Adversary

By FangGrip, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I am having a hard time finding information on how and when to apply the Adversary Talent. I can find the Talent description with the others, but not any other text in the core rules. Heck, it isn't even in the Index. Am I being blind? Could someone point out the page number or section where they discuss when to grant it to NPCs?

Thanks :)

You add it to NPCs as you see fit, perhaps not to minions (unless you want them to be crazy minions), but Rivals could have 1 or 2 ranks if considered powerful, a Nemesis could have up to as many as you see fit, although I'd limit it to about 3 or 4 at most, in most cases. I don't think there are guidelines as to when and who to apply it to, some of the adversaries in the core book have it listed, some doesn't.

As long as the adversary has it, it applies passively to all attacks made against that adversary.

Thank you.

Perhaps they will add a discussion of their intent with it in a later supplement. I do find it odd that they hide it in with the talents, and never mention it elsewhere except for a few opponent stat blocks. Heck, I would never have known about it had I not been reading the forums and kept seeing it mentioned.

Perhaps, not that I think its needed, I mean throwing together adversaries in this game is easy and can be done quickly and spontaneously without breaking the game - all you need is wound threshold, soak, and some characteristics, perhaps a skill or two. Going by what exists in the core book you should have a good indication on how it can be done. Nemeses might be a tad harder, since they follow more PC-like rules, but you do not have to give them xp or specs, although the GM kit and GM screen has some guidelines for building nemeses and all; they can have this nifty ability to act twice per round

I agree that it would have been useful to call this out in the ADversary section of the book but as its the first talent listed it is pretty easy to stumble across.
